There's a reason why it was 10-10 with 9 minutes to go in the game against a team looking to quit
Yep, and the reason is our WRs kept dropping touchdown passes

...Sorry, couldn't help myself.
My point is I saw that Dak thread a couple weeks ago and God, how ridiculous to make such a conclusion on a second-year quarterback after a couple bad games. It happens to everybody. Dak redeemed himself as I knew he would.
He gets the touchdown...doesn't matter if he throws screens all day and they all go for scores...smh. It's time for some of those receivers to get some of those YACs anyway. Geez! There have been quite a few downfield passes and the receivers don't catch them. They guy has completed 63% of his passes and you wonder if he can read defenses? Really? Arm strength? Dak has thrown in more tight windows than any QB this year. News flash...you need arm strength to get balls in tight windows. I'm more worried about some of you not know what you're talking about or never played the position than Dak not having arm talent or intelligence to play QB. Smh.I thought Giants game was first time he looked good in several weeks. Its a start. However, on all those long plays in Giants game I believe they were all throws for 7 yards or less. Still need to see him throw down field better and continue making teams pay for blitzing. Never questioned his heart but I still have some concerns about arm talent & ability to read defense when he is not getting "major" support around him.
On the long gains for Dak and Rod Smith, several commentators noted that Dak was seeing the field, noticing no safety help in the middle or blitzes that could end up being long gains. On the Rod Smith 81-yard td, Dak was the one who got Rod in the right position.

I also don’t get how people say Dez’s drop was an automatic TD anyways.. it would have been placed around the 5 or 4 from what I recall..
I think I'll dispel the myth that Wentz throws better down the field than Dak.
Wentz has attempted 20+ yards throws on 50 occasions. He has connected 14 times at a completion percentage of 28%
Prescott has attempted 20+ throws on 28 occasions. He has connected 9 times at a completion percentage of 33%
In other words Wentz has attempted 22 more throws and connected a mere 5 more times. It's not that Wentz is better at throwing downfield, it's just he heaves it downfield more often. He connects a God awful low number of times
That wasn’t a blitz at all.. The safety didn’t even bother with Rod, but went straight to Dez straight off the snap...
Dak made the proper read after looking left but if anything that play call was Linehan.
It was also spread anyways with everything in front of him and the matchup was Rod on a Lb straight off the snap from what i remember..

Using 28 as total number of passes beyond 20 yards is fine, and correct. But then posting a portion of that number as 30+ passes seems disingenuous and may leave the reader thinking Prescott threw 28 beyond 20 and an additional 6 beyond 30.
IT BACKS THE DEFENSE OFF.
No it shouldn't. 20+ means number of throws over 20 yards, 30+ means number of throws over 30 yards. 30+ is a sub group of 20+, and at no point should anybody be thinking that the number of 30+ throws is in addition to the 20+ throws. Unless you fail at english it's pretty clear.
The point of the 30+ statistic was that when Wentz goes for a real big throw, he pretty much always misses. As opposed to someone like Brady who averages over 30% in that category.
It's quite easy to train someone who can throw it down field to be willing to throw it downfield. It's a lot harder if someone can't throw it downfield. Nobody is arguing that Prescott likes to throw downfield all day long, but people go a step further and say he can't. Prescott's fine throwing deep, he just needs to be willing to go there more often, and that's something that's fairly easy to fix.
Love it when someone starts a post disagreeing and before they finish they end up agreeing. Although I don't agree on your assumption that Dak "likes to throw downfield all day long," I can't quit laughing enough to point how how silly that is.
