I see from the venerable Charean Williams of the Fort Worth Startle Telegram that Terrence Williams is turning heads in organized team activities and in the off season in general.

With Dez's probable reluctancy to attend organized team activities, here is a possible Jerra strategy:

With Williams and Witten and Beasley, give that troika off receivers as manys passes as possible. Also, give Dez his share.

But, at the end of the season, Dez, while contributing like the other three, comes off the season as a very average receiver.

Presto, ipso facto: Jerra starts long-term contract talks with Dez and his agent.
And guess who will half the upper hand in them negotiations?

Think about it and don't hurt your brains, brave mens and womans.

Yes. They could shift the offense to spread it out a bit more.
But at the end of the day.... game.... You have ago to guy who scores touchdowns.

With all due respect (and my respect for a name like hipfake is much) at the end of the day, whether Witten, Beasley, Williams or (ugh) Randle scores . . . well a TD is a TD no matter who crosses the line. All can even cross their wrists and showboat.

That wouldn't go well.

Remember when Williams caught the game-winner right next to Dez against Detroit in the playoffs? Dez just walked off the field. He seemed upset he didn't catch the TD.

If he got stonewalled in any way, he'd have a hissy.

I.ve been hearing about this praise for williams, everyone coming to him for leadership, etc. Wonder hom much of that is team generated (negotiations)

We are talking different stratospheres here. No way Williams is ever going to draw double teams.

Everyone and their brother knows how much Dez is worth. Its not like we're going to hide it from everyone by limiting his chances. All that will do is hurt the teams chances and make Dallas look like fools for trying it.

I think Dallas is taking a serious look at what it would be like without Dez. Some really really successful teams run WRs group that don't have true #1 WR. Dallas could go that path if Dez starts to act up or if contract demands are unreasonable. I never considered Dallas-Dez contract extension a slam dunk.

Trade him?

Interesting thought.

So you mean in a season we have championship aspirations let's purposefully make our offense worse? Oh and Dez would still command top dollar on the open market.

Yeah that seems smart. And by smart I mean not smart.

Successful teams like who?

Dez just needs to come to the realization that he really has no leverage in this particular situation. He has to sign something within the next month and there is really no way around it.

LOL, I lost you at "tearing it up at training camp". Terrance Williams is a good #2, but he can't carry the load.

Well, he could sit out the season. But that would be stupid as hell.
