I'm as heart broken as everyone else, but in an attempt to think positive:

We all thought we'd have to go 3-1 to for sure grab a spot, or go 2-2 and take our chances. Most of us thought that loss would come at the hands of NYG. Looking at it now, if we had to lose a game, this was the one to lose. NYG and PHI would mess up our conference record, while BAL is at home. Losing a game that we should have won, were still in until the end despite Romo sucking/injuries/poor ST play, that was out of the conference, on the road in the frigid cold, is as harmless a loss as they go in December. We found out a lot about our team today. We can hang with the league's upper- echelon teams even when everything seems to be going wrong. Plus we found out that this defense is no joke.

Going in to it we knew NYG lost. We knew they would come angry next week. But with our loss, we're the more angry team. The hell with this loss. We woke up on the outside looking in, and now, at least for this week, we're in. This day could have been so much worse. The Falcons could have held on. The Commanders could have won. We could have gotten pounded in PIT and found out that we really couldn't hang. But I think we all just need to sleep this one off, and come back tomorrow with a little more optimism and a little less "draft a QB".

To be honest, I didn't think we would have a chance against Pitt. All week long, all I heard was how Pitt was gelling, how Pitt is emergin as the AFC team to beat, how Pitt's D was scary, etc, etc, etc.

While I was hugely dissapointed how we melted down late in the game, I guess things aren't as bad as it seems, as there's still a LONG way to go.

We had one to drop. Sure would have been nice to come out with a win and make it easy on us, but I have no problem with this team needing to basically win out to get where it needs to go. The Giants game next week will be awesome.

This and the Ravens game are the games that if we were to lose, it would hurt us the least.

Even though I'm really disappointed and am questioning a lot of things tonight, I still think we're going to make the playoffs and I could see us making some noise if things go right.

I think Jason Garrett needs to stay home, personally, and make room for someone - anyone - who can call an offense ad not get consistently outcoached.

Hopefully the team has this attitude as well, otherwise, the chances of doing what we need to do are greatly reduced.

Plus... think of this storyline: Prime-time game. Team fighting for its life. Division rivals. That has Dallas victory written all over it. I'm more sure we will beat NYG than I was when I woke up this morning.

I didn't have a problem with the play calling after Romo started to get some time to do something at the end of 2nd quarter. The only thing I would have liked was more passes over the middle. After to endure the hometown Steelers each week, I live in the Pittsburgh area, I could tell the major failing of the Steelers is they are weak over the middle. If they could have passed more they would have exploited that weakness and moved the ball steadily.
The defense played one of their best games all year. I just wish we hadn't wasted it. This is the only one I wanted the Cowboys to win all year, and this hurts like hell. Even if we go to the playoffs and go further than the Steelers, I have to hear about this all winter.

Yeah-we just don't know which team will show up. Remember how we all thought we would have no problems beating the lowly Rams, even with BJ under center? Then after that debacle, we all thought the Bucs would kill us at home, only to eek out a gritty win?

Yeah-this team is just incredibly unpredictable. IF we had won today, who knows? We may have come out complacent against the Giants next week.

Anyone else get the feeling that when Garrett cozies up to Romo on the bench, he's saying, "Psst, Tony. Mind if you make it look like I'm calling plays? So, umm, what do you have in mind?"

FYI-Sean Payton wanted him in New Orleans 2 years ago(but Miami declined the Saints to let him interview there).

Pt being that we've all seen how Payton, who's very bright offensively, gets too cute with his playcalling. I've noticed MANY similarities with Garrett.
