I watched a video blurb on Gasol and it was projected that he would join the Spurs this next year when Duncan is ready to retire.

I don't ever want to see Duncan retire, but when he does- Gasol would be a darn good fit.
No way in the world it's going to happen... I don't see why he would leave Memphis as they would pay him what he wants and he pretty much grew up there, but as a fan it would be nice.

I'm sure that's not for this thread/forum though.

QBs just play the game differently when they have confidence in their protection.
Tony included.

Everyone knows (or should know) that it's so much easier if you have a great line and a run game. Magnify that even further if you a defense too.

Tony has never been a runner...he is an evader.

The entire premise of the OP is off.

Thanks Percy, that is what I think I was getting at. His slides are more purposeful and not an all-out jailbreak.

I think I get what you're trying to convey and to some degree, I agree with it. However, I think that rather than the being the injury playing a part in him being less likely to take off and run, or feel the need to scramble crazily in the pocket, it's more about him slowly getting used to the fact that he doesn't need to do that as much. Mentally, I think it's taken a while for him to trust that the line will give him the time he needs and shake off what had become second nature (meaning 2 seconds and move fast before he gets killed). That had become a habit and survival instinct. I believe that the concept of time in the pocket is something he's still adjusting to.

not having to constantly duck, 180, pirouette out of a way of a defender is helping a bit.

That's how I was about to respond too, then I read it again and realized he disagreed with the other guy's comment that led him to ask the question.

Could be Ive just never payed attention to it but last night I saw him stay IN the pocket and just move around within it instead of run or move outside. He has definitely evolved into a better pocket passer this year as far as his patience and not improvising unnecessarily. I like it, bout this time Elway was ready for número uno!

I may not have articulated this well. I mean on passing plays he now seems under less duress as things move around him, which manifests in his patience in the pocket instead of sprinting out.

Sorry, I did not mean the running game with Murray.

He trusts his line, backs and play caller.

He had footwork issues between 10-12 I think. Always having a sieve in front of him affected that. Hes back to what he used to do back in the early part of his career.
He looks like a boxer in the GIFs that itsaboat posted.

Romo moved around plenty last night. Even the announcer commented on it.

I'll stick to my same point that Romo seems like he needs plenty of time for things to come open. Rodgers is the same way, so in Rothelisberger is this way also. They rarely go with the first read unless it's just no time for anything else, or it's wide open. So because these guys can move around in the pocket and buy time, this is what they do. Great defenses don't give you that time. Now, teams that tried to sit back and let 4 men get to Romo, that's not going to work even if they didn't have a great offensive line, because of Romo's escape abilities. So what Washington did was just bring the house. They brought the house, so there's no time to wait for things to come open, no place to escape to.

Sometimes, you have to have a plan, know where you're going to go with the ball and let it fly. If I'm a team going against Romo, I bring blitzes from everywhere, different places different times, just like what Zona and Washington did. You're not going to get to him with a 4 or 5 man rush. So I said all that to say this, the biggest blessing so far to happen to Romo is this line, and this running game.
