In one of the worst games in Cowboys history, there were a few…and I mean very few…players who deserve some kudos for their performance:
  • Tyler Smith- actually played very well. Only allowed 2 QB pressures and had multiple plays where he flashed some physical dominance. Has a lot to learn still but lots of good Sun night.
  • Micah Parsons- 2 sacks, played hard every snap. But…Even the great #11 though had some bad plays too. He needs to work on run gap protection.
  • Zack Martin- was his usual dependable self.
  • Brian Anger- you know you’ve had a bad night when your punter is a star. Anger is consistently great. Avg 51 yards per punt with 2 inside the 20.
Anyone else?

Jason Garrett picking the Dallas Football Cowboys to win during FNIA. The guy is like Karnak the Magnificent.

I think Zeke had a pretty good game with the opportunities he was given That was good to see he seems to be back from his injury

Zeke Elliott averaged 5.2 yards per carry. KM just needs to stop abandoning the run.

Our kicker made his only kick, that’s a start for him.

What a coincidence. The three starters out of 22 starters I said should be kept. I'd move just about anybody else in a second.

I hate to say it, but elliot ran well, pollard had a few good runs. I also thought tyler played good.
Noah brown did good. Dak played good at times, but the defense just kept him confused, and he started making mistakes.
I think being behind and at home, he was embarrased and frustrated, which made him worse as game went on.

But here is one thing, people tend to overlook, Bowles had a great def game plan, and his def players played great, same team that shut down
kc in SB.
So Dallas was ill prepared, bad game plan, and played a great defense, hence only 3 points.

I thought DT/interior DL did well.

Tampa had their best success running to the edges, away from the DTs. I think the 2LB-3S scheme with Micah rushing the passer surrendered those edges

As for the pass rush.. it's Brady. The guy fires his passes off so quick it nullifies the pass rush for most opponents.

I find it comical that we had massive meltdowns on CZ prior to game 1 about Left Tackle.

It turned out that rookie LT Tyler Smith was a top 3 player on the team in game 1.

I thought Osa was really solid, particularly early. Thought our safety play was OK, and LVE was OK. Just OK though.
One thing I'd note on Smith. He played well and should be proud, but I'm hearing some fans getting a little carried away. He was not perfect by a longshot. He gave up 2 pressures and a sack. Was what, low 60's in PFF? He played solid, and he will get better, but people be acting like he is prime Tyron already. He may get there, but he's not that yet. Also thought Noah Brown looked like a guy who could contribute on a WR corps, like a #4 who could occasionally flash to a #3. And Zeke looked like he has some burst.

It may sound like a bit of a conspiracy theory, but I was wondering what made the team choose Maher over Lirim.

But if you expect your office to sputter a bit more and you will need to try for points from longer ranges Maher certainly made sense. Lirim wasn't going to consistently get you points from 53 yards and higher.
