1. No one is talking about this right now but the Cowboys won a couple of meaningless games at the end of last season. Cowboys should have evaluated young players during that time and improved their draft pick selection. THAT is the difference between getting a sure fire blue chip prospect and possibly missing out on one altogether in this draft class.

2. How many of you would lose your mind if a blue chip player is still there at pick #12 (Styles/Down/Delane/Love/OT) and the Cowboys trade down for more picks? I can see why people might melt down over this scenario, but realistically numbers probably help this team more than one top tier player would.

3. What do you believe are the odds that Dallas will:

A. Trade Down from 12
B. Trade down from 20
C. Trade down from 12 and 20?

Trade down from 20 seems plausible. After the top blue chipper guys are gone at 12-13, it might be good to pick up an extra 2 or 3 with a trade down of #20.

Trading down from from 20 will likely make more sense as anybody you draft at 20 is likely to be similarly graded to anyone you can select at 32.

It all depends on who is left on the board of course.

Pick 12 will be interesting. If there is still a first round graded defender then I feel like you gotta take him. But again if all the first round graded talents at defense are wiped out by the time pick 12 comes. Then trading down might make more sense also.

I’d trade down if love or an OT was there. Not major needs. I’d pick if Delane of styles are there. I fully expect a trade down because I don’t think Downs, Delane, Stules or a top edge will be there. Trade down and get a safety like thineman or CB like Terrell

If we would have forced last years players on CP everyone would be mad that Jerry was forcing the issue. Don’t be mad that we are dumping the bad scheme fits. It’s absolutely what we should be doing. I never expected to be able to fix this entire defense in a single offseason

Hopefully someone falls in love with a QB and trades up to 20. giving us a late 1st and 2nd or 3rd

Someone made a post in another thread about swapping Cowboys 12th and 20th picks with Cleveland's 6th and 39th picks in order to move up and get Styles at #6.

I'm totally for that.
It's just I think he goes top 5.
UGH.

I think odds are low that they trade down from 12, but that's where they should move from, imo.

I would be against that move.

Agreed, that's why I would.

Depending on the chart you use, you can do something like 12 for 21/53 (Pitt)
I pick from
30-45 is going to be a very valuable pick, if you choose wisely.

I just want them to pick good football players and not get cute trying to outsmart the league.
The problem with the idea of refusing to trade down is that the meat and potatoes of this draft is going to be from about 30-65ish. (Maybe slightly higher range than that). You want as many picks out of that sweet spot in this draft as you can get.

Again ...... I do not think the front office is capable of doing it well.
