Do you want the truth? You can't handle the truth! I digress. Here are a few questions I would like you guys to weigh in on:

1. What projected first round QB may still be there when we draft and would you draft him?

2. How upset would you be if the team has an Aaron Rogers grade on a QB and selected him at #19?

3. How upset would you be if we trade up in the first round, especially into the top 10 picks and gave up a second and third round pick to do it?

4. What is your preferred pick in the first round?

5. What do you think the general consensus on this board will be of our draft after the draft? 1 is jumping off a bridge and 10 is so happy we are so happy we are whistling zippty do da out of our *******s as Chevy Chase would say.

6. How many players do you think we will end up drafting on draft day?

7. What approach do you see is taking on draft day:

A. Reach for need
B. BPA all the way
C. Gambling like madmen with all these picks--home run or bust.
D. Trading back and filling lots of holes.
E. Targeting specific players and maximizing our draft ammo.

8. What move could we make on draft day that would piss you off the most?

9. If Dallas drafts a wide receiver at #19 what do you think is the probability that Dallas puts Dez up for trade during the draft?

10. Will Dallas trade any picks for veteran players ondraft day?

11. Will this draft look more like the 2009 draft or the 2016 draft after all is said and done?

12. How many picks out of 10 will be used on defense?

13. What player do you think we have a good chance of drafting would you be most upset if we took him?

14. What player are you hoping falls to us that is probably just out of our current reach?

Too many questions. :)

But yes, though I’m not sold on Dak being a franchise quarterback, he has at least proven he’s above average. Tampa won a Super Bowl with Trent Dilfer and Philly just won one with Nick Foles. The Cowboys can absolutely win a Super Bowl with Dak Prescott.

That pick at #19 needs to be a difference maker at a skill position, preferably linebacker.

No one is trading for Dez. I do see Jerry doing a lot of dealing on draft day given the number of picks he has, but not for veteran players. Instead I suspect that he’ll be moving up and down as usual.

Bottom line, the Cowboys need to come out of this draft with not one, but two quality linebackers, a tight end, a guard, a receiver and hopefully a safety.

4. What is your preferred pick in the first round? Depends on who has been taken.

5. What do you think the general consensus on this board will be of our draft after the draft? 1 is jumping off a bridge and 10 is so happy we are so happy we are whistling zippty do da out of our *******s as Chevy Chase would say. 8. Pretty favorable.

I will give my two cents later on but I think drafting a 3 Tech to play 1 Tech, or just drafting a 3 Tech in general in the first would piss me off more than any other position.

Trading up in the first and pissing off a high pick or multiple picks would piss me off to no end too.

8. What move could we make on draft day that would piss you off the most?

1. What projected first round QB may still be there when we draft and would you draft him? Mayfield. No I wouldn't draft him. The jury may be out in Prescott, but drafting his potential replacement just hurts his chances for success even more. Yiu would essentially be undermining Dak.

2. How upset would you be if the team has an Aaron Rogers grade on a QB and selected him at #19? Very. See above.

3. How upset would you be if we trade up in the first round, especially into the top 10 picks and gave up a second and third round pick to do it? I'd lose it. I think it's the worst choice they could make.

1. What projected first round QB may still be there when we draft and would you draft him? Jackson might be there and no.

2. How upset would you be if the team has an Aaron Rogers grade on a QB and selected him at #19? Level of pissed off depends on for whom. If it were Mayfield, I would eat through someone's *** on my way to the podium.

3. How upset would you be if we trade up in the first round, especially into the top 10 picks and gave up a second and third round pick to do it? Depends on who they traded up for. If for a DB, pretty pissed.

4. What is your preferred pick in the first round? Best value of course. Would love a LB, DT or OG.

5. What do you think the general consensus on this board will be of our draft after the draft? 1 is jumping off a bridge and 10 is so happy we are so happy we are whistling zippty do da out of our *******s as Chevy Chase would say. I have not whistled zippity do da out of my ******* since the 2005 draft.

6. How many players do you think we will end up drafting on draft day? 8

7. What approach do you see is taking on draft day:

9. If Dallas drafts a wide receiver at #19 what do you think is the probability that Dallas puts Dez up for trade during the draft? Zero.

10. Will Dallas trade any picks for veteran players ondraft day? What is a trade?

11. Will this draft look more like the 2009 draft or the 2016 draft after all is said and done? 2009

12. How many picks out of 10 will be used on defense? 5

14. What player are you hoping falls to us that is probably just out of our current reach? Lewis or Edmunds.

1. What projected first round QB may still be there when we draft and would you draft him?

Unless he flunked his interview, I would move up for Baker Mayfield. I want an actual talented player at QB and I'm willing to roll the dice there. Of course I'd have already added Wentz so QB wouldn't be a need now.

I'd also cut Prescott. Just superficially to get my point across.

2. How upset would you be if the team has an Aaron Rogers grade on a QB and selected him at #19?

Conga, anyone?

conga-line-gif-7.gif

3. How upset would you be if we trade up in the first round, especially into the top 10 picks and gave up a second and third round pick to do it?

Very. Inactive in FA and a short draft class. Great way to build a team. Especially one with so many holes on the roster.

4. What is your preferred pick in the first round?

Of the realistic options - Calvin Ridley.

5. What do you think the general consensus on this board will be of our draft after the draft? 1 is jumping off a bridge and 10 is so happy we are so happy we are whistling zippty do da out of our *******s as Chevy Chase would say.

Several have already given the Cowboys a 10 for this draft class. We know who they are.

It'll be all over the grid. Some love, some hate.

6. How many players do you think we will end up drafting on draft day?

8 or 9.

7. What approach do you see is taking on draft day:

A. Reach for need
B. BPA all the way
C. Gambling like madmen with all these picks--home run or bust.
D. Trading back and filling lots of holes.
E. Targeting specific players and maximizing our draft ammo.

A combination of A and B.

8. What move could we make on draft day that would piss you off the most?

A trade up into the top 10 for a non QB.

9. If Dallas drafts a wide receiver at #19 what do you think is the probability that Dallas puts Dez up for trade during the draft?

Zero.

10. Will Dallas trade any picks for veteran players ondraft day?

No.

11. Will this draft look more like the 2009 draft or the 2016 draft after all is said and done?

I don't know what that means. 2009 was awful and 2016 was the year we gave the Eagles an elite franchise QB and decided to hitch our wagon and waste years with a CFL QB. I'll never look at that draft class as a success and you shouldn't either. You might notice the Eagles have a Super Bowl ring now. It was a disaster.

I'm hoping for 2005. Granted, without the additional 1st round pick.

12. How many picks out of 10 will be used on defense?

If they select 10, no more than 6. It'll be split pretty evenly.

13. What player do you think we have a good chance of drafting would you be most upset if we took him?

Any cornerback. I will flip crap.

14. What player are you hoping falls to us that is probably just out of our current reach?

Derwin James. They won't take Vita Vea regardless, so he doesn't factor into it.

1.Lamar Jackson...no.

1. What projected first round QB may still be there when we draft and would you draft him?

Mayfield / No

2. How upset would you be if the team has an Aaron Rogers grade on a QB and selected him at #19?

They don't. If they took him i'd be ok with that but that QB would be Josh Allen because he's the complete package but the completion percentage scares a lot of people.

3. How upset would you be if we trade up in the first round, especially into the top 10 picks and gave up a second and third round pick to do it?

I could get over it but skipping free agency and then giving our draft away for 1 guy is a dumb move.

4. What is your preferred pick in the first round?

Derwin James or Roquan Smith is who I want but I don't want to give up a 2nd rounder as well.

5. What do you think the general consensus on this board will be of our draft after the draft? 1 is jumping off a bridge and 10 is so happy we are so happy we are whistling zippty do da out of our *******s as Chevy Chase would say.

Who knows

6. How many players do you think we will end up drafting on draft day?

Who knows. I would like to trade down in the 1st and get as much ammo as possible to move back into the 2nd as many times as we can.

7. What approach do you see is taking on draft day:

C. I think they trade up for Derwin or Roquan. Again, I love the move if you add a Suh and Earl Thomas to the team but skipping Free Agency and then giving away draft picks for 1 player is the wrong move.

A. Reach for need
B. BPA all the way
C. Gambling like madmen with all these picks--home run or bust.
D. Trading back and filling lots of holes.
E. Targeting specific players and maximizing our draft ammo.

8. What move could we make on draft day that would piss you off the most?

Draft a corner in the 1st.

9. If Dallas drafts a wide receiver at #19 what do you think is the probability that Dallas puts Dez up for trade during the draft?

0. Dez doesn't have trade value at his price tag IMO and none of these WR's are sure things.

10. Will Dallas trade any picks for veteran players ondraft day?

No. I hope they do.

11. Will this draft look more like the 2009 draft or the 2016 draft after all is said and done?

Who knows.

12. How many picks out of 10 will be used on defense?

3.. Again who knows.

13. What player do you think we have a good chance of drafting would you be most upset if we took him?

DJ Moore. Another YAC guy on a team that doesn't like to put their WR's in catch and run situations.

14. What player are you hoping falls to us that is probably just out of our current reach?

Derwin James, Roquan Smith, Fitzpatrick in that order.

Good post, except I disagree on drafting a TE. They should NEVER draft a TE until Witten is 100% retired. If he were to come out and say this is his last year, then yes. If not, then wait until 2019.
