I think his type of personality can wear on a team.

Every little thing that didn't go the Lions' way, he complained about it to the Refs and on the bench.

When his receivers dropped passes he would let them know about it and go to the bench and pout.

Why did he feel the need to tell the Fox sideline reporter at halftime that he was very underwhelmed by the officials?

His demeanor and whimsical attitude is totally opposite of Tony Romo and makes me appreciate the latter even more.

That is all  .

QBs tend to be leaders on most teams and some personalities for the position are very much in line with this kind of example.

I don't think there was anything out of line there and if nothing else he was challenging his teammates, on a team with with a history of losing, to not accept it.

I think that kind of spirit can also lift your teammates...And let's face it, brash QBs are far more the norm than the aww shucks Gomer style of Romo.

But, yeah, I prefer Romo.

True, it could be just a result of frustration.

But why gurantee 10 wins when you have not won a Playoff Game in maybe a decade?

Why call out players on your team and the opposition like he does?

Why go seek out the sideline reporter (so she can tell the masses no doubt) and let her know you hate the way the officials are calling the game?

He complained about every single thing during the game. I am not being sarcastic about that either, he reminded me of my 5 year old nephew.

To me, that is not a leader, but hey, I am smart enough to know that they come in all different shapes and sizes.

After the non PI call on I think Watkins Kitna pointed to the ref and was screaming at him. The ref looked like he warned him to shut up. :laugh1:
If it was Terrell that was pointing and screaming at the official would he have received a warning or a penalty? :p

I'd add that there's clearly been pressure on Kitna, both internal and external (Cowboys hype this week re: comments)...Pressure saw itself explode when they didn't capitalize on certain opportunities.

That PI call before the half, we could argue it all day but at the end of the day, that could just as easily gone the other way...And being at home, I think you expect to get that call...Of course, if you're America's team and you're getting walked on in the 1st half, maybe the officials aren't going to add to the punishment, either.

I guess it's just me but I liked his intensity out there...He's got some 'Irvin' in him and for your QB, that kind of energy can be a good thing...And you gotta give him credit, he backed up everything he 'said' and still performed well...Can't say the same about Newman and Burnett.

Stick his ugly, skull-faced chrome dome on a baby's body and that's what I saw yesterday. Every opportunity to whine, cry, pout, spit and throw a fit he took the time to do. What a joke.

Someone should do a pic of this like the old TO / McFlabby eagle twins.

You know, Deion made a good point last night on NFL Game Day. When they showed the little "fit" Kitna had on the sideline after the kicker missed the field goal, Deion made the point that it's not good for the QB to show up the kicker that way. He said you rarely see a kicker throw a fit like that when the QB makes an interception.

I can understand being upset that your kicker missed what really should have been a gimme that would have put the game away but to throw a fit like that? Come on, grow up.

Come on, that's a huge stretch there...How often do you see players, QB or otherwise lose it when a kicker misses?....It's often referred to as the most thankless and lonely job on a team...Everyone expects the kicker to make it everytime as it's just him.

Kitna has no right to criticize Hansen, considering Hansen is one of the top-notch kickers in league history...

Botch a chip shot from 35 yards in a tight game against one of the best records in the NFL?...Yeah, criticism is gonna go your way

I seem to remember some fair criticism levied against another 'Hall of Famer' accurate kicker too in Vanderjagt...We all know how that turned out

I agree, but one thing you have to give him. He is a big-time competitor and that is always a plus on the field.

I really enjoyed the game yesterday.

Would have been nice to have some cheese to go with Kitna's whine though.

They were close calls that could have been called. I may be a die hard Cowboys fans but I think we got a couple of calls our way yesterday.

Kitna deserves some slack. He has finished evolving yet.

Re: calls that went our way, I didn't have problems with the PI calls, but I did think the fumble Gurode recovered was very generous.

on the Roy WIlliam's call, you're allowed to put your hand on the receiver's shoulder, you just can't wrap your arm around him

unless Roy's hand was impeding the WR's movement towards the ball, it's not PI

I didn't see the game, so I can't really tell, just telling y'all what to look for

Yeah...but I think Ware relayed Newman's message pretty clear on that body slam to Kitna:laugh2:
