I was at the game last night and figured I'd share some of the experiences with you all.

- Obviously it is an amazing facility. I thought it was funny that there seemed to be a Steelers fan around every turn, many of them saying things like "this stadium is okay, but it's nothing special." Good stuff....

- I was thrilled to see our first team offense and defense basically shut the Titans down and was very happy to see the starters in until half-time (and some even later than that).

- I thought that Crayton looked like a great #2 WR last night. It's sad that his entire career to this point has been made by one bad play because he's vastly underrated by our fan base.

- Speaking of fan base, I've been to a lot of stadiums around the NFL (17 in all to this point), and we have one of the quietest crowds I've ever heard. It's not just the new stadium, I realized it at Texas Stadium too. It won't matter if we have 100,000+ people at the game if everyone is doing the golf clap after every big play. So, if you happen to go to a game this year, get freaking loud.

- Judging by where I was sitting, the field-level suites look pointless. I can't comprehend how anyone can see from behind the players at below ground level.

- I know it's only pre-season right now, but man Romo looks good. In the past I've thought that he looked lost at times, last night we thought we were watching Tom Brady. His pocket awareness was on par with the elite QB's in the league, his accuracy was amazing, he protected the ball, and seemed much more comfortable overall.

- Flozell looked better last night than at any point in the past couple of years. On the TD drive right before the half he got off the ball as well as I've ever seen and his kick-step was powerful and fast on each one of those plays. He was so fast in fact that a few times he was the first person on either line to get off the ball.

- Felix Jones might be the second most important player on the team. He is by far our most explosive weapon on offense and should give DC's nightmares all year long (assuming JG keeps the offense interesting).

- Octavien needs to make this roster.

- Brooking is already better than Thomas was last year. The guy brings an attitude that not only our defense, but our team needed.

Great comments, thanks. It really was very quiet from a TV viewing standpoint IMO. Aikman/Buck were polite and didn't say anything. Glad, no ELATED to hear that about Flo. I like him alot more than most on this board: he did look solid last night, as the whole line did IMO.

Honest queston:

How loud are crowds during preseason games?

I'd guess that the league's loudest stadiums are much less so during the preseason.

Ever been to Buffalo for a pre-season game? That place is deafening.

By the way, it's not just in the pre-season, Texas Stadium was bad during the season too.

I havent been there...But I went to the cow/cards game last year in arizona and just the cowboys fans that went to that game were loud as hell. maybe it's those texas people lol. If people are really doing golf claps then they have some issues over there.

The golf claps was an exaggeration, but rare were the times that the crowd made much noise at all.

Agree 100%, if he was an Eagles or Giant, they'd all be talking about "why cant we get someone late in the draft like that and develop them into a solid contributor"

I've said all offseason I thought the subtraction of TO would greatly improve Romo's decision making. No longer does he or Garrett feel the need to force feed one guy at the expense of the offense as a whole.

- Flozell looked better last night than at any point in the past couple of years. On the TD drive right before the half he got off the ball as well as I've ever seen and his kick-step was powerful and fast on each one of those plays. Agree, he looks in great shape.

- Felix Jones might be the second most important player on the team. He is by far our most explosive weapon on offense and should give DC's nightmares all year long (assuming JG keeps the offense interesting).

He's a long gain or TD waiting to happen.

-Octavien needs to make this roster.

I want to see more, but he was definitely impressive last night. Very active.

- Brooking is already better than Thomas was last year. The guy brings an attitude that not only our defense, but our team needed.

No doubt, I was really wrong about him. He looked done to me in Atlanta, but he looks really solid here. Very nice call by Wade and our personnel people.

Real good summary.

I especially agree with the part about Romo. I think we forget sometimes how good he is. And now, he's protecting the ball in the pocket.

The crowds were VERY loud when they were yelling, but they didn't yell consistently and I think that's due to it being pre-season.

I caught Dave Campo on 103.3 heading home from the game and he said it was louder on the field in the new stadium for this preseason game than it was in the old stadium during regular season games, so he was excited to see what it sounded like during real games.

Not sure if it is the fan base that is underrating him. He really hasnt been used much in my opinion. Its hard to underrate some one who is the 4th or 5th option on the team.

How many Super Bowls have Buffalo won?
Those fans have to cheer early on, because most years they are out of the playoff chase by Thanksgiving.
Cowboy fans are spoiled by so much success, so we do not go gaga at the preseason games.
If you think Cowboy fans are quiet then you haven't been to many games.

i've definitely commented about this in the past and maybe it was just tv last night but on our first red zone drive, the crowd seemed to get louder as we were running the play. stuff like that is what kills me...it's fine if you don't want to be loud to hurt the opposing team, but at least shut up for our offense to hear each other.... :banghead:

If he doesnt touch the ball 20-25 times per game he is going to waste. On the 42 yard run he was pulling away from guys effortlessly. Just love the fact that he gives opposing D coordinators nightmares, and definitely no LB or Saftey in the league is going to be able to cover him.

I like the way the Seahawks designed their stadium. They made it so that it was acoustically very, very loud. I do not think Jerry did that. It would be nice if he did.

What I don't get is how the crowd can be so loud and rowdy at Mavs games, and they suck.....but for the great Dallas Cowboys, it's like they are playing in an empty house.....well unless we are playing the Steelers and then you can hear those fans rooting for the black and yellow.

we need to be like the Indy crowd....deaf mutes when we are on offense......but loud and rowdy when we are on defense.

I thought at times, when big plays were made, the crowd sounded loud. So I think that translates well to the regular season...
