A Few Questions About A Plays Called Or Not

1. We saw the rookie year of Ogletree how he was used in what I believe is called the bubble screen - someone may correct the name here - and they had him catch the pass behind the line of scrimmage with receivers and perhaps tight ends in front to give him a lane to run.

I watched Green Bay run that play today twice, and both times made substantial yardage. The guy who received the ball was small and fast, like Beasley.

Where is that play?

This team finally stopped those naked screens that fooled no one, but with the blockers this appears to me - for what that is worth - to be a very solid play. I believe even Oglewaste built his Dallas rookie reputation off seven catches that were mostly this play.

2. Why is Dez not in motion?

3. Why has it taken so long for this offense to find out mismatches are what scores and works offensively. Romo swapped Dez and Beasley and it was like a magic elixir.

So what is wrong with the brain trust for this team that they cannot figure this out?

4. I watched Brees on a controlled roll out that moved the ball. Why doesn't Dallas do this anymore?

I am confounded by the way teams take Dez away - even if he does run poor routes - and how the offensive play calling digs hole after hole.

They are intent on making Romo a pocket passer. Our offense bites as a result.

This offense is not designed for a QB like Romo......................as a result, its looks awful.

Build an offensive line for Romo where he is not running for his life constantly would be my first move.

Build a running game to take the pressure off of him having to do it all would be second.

But I would really assess the routes this team runs and come up with something that features the strong suits of the players and not try and fit square pegs in round holes.

Dez needs to go in motion, be in the slot and stacked in the three receiver set to protect him and give him an edge.

But then I am just some old fat guy and not a graduate of Princeton. What the hell do I know.

I've been harping about the offense playcalling and philosophy for so many years now. This offense does not fit Romo. It doesn't utilize his mobility at all. It has turned him into a pocket passer thanks to Garrett.

Those are the very questions I've asked many times before. I really don't know why the Cowboys cant create their own special plays that can get players open.

When Romo was without the influence of Garrett, we had a lot of plays with roll outs and play action. Wouldn't it be smart to call a play action and throw it deep for once? I can't understand why we are so predictable, so easy to defend against and so messed up on offense. Its been like this for many years now. The main reason is Garrett and his playbook - it needs to be thrown into the toilet and flushed away.

The bubble screen has been more of a bust and basically a wasted down for Dallas.

They've had a couple of successes using it. Problem is, it's been in the playbook for years and has taken them this long to get those couple.

Apparently more than Garrett.
