OK, on the yahoo sports page they have video clips of the players drafted. But it's only streaming, and I can't get any of them saved to my hard drive. I've even tried checking the temporary internet files, hoping they'd be saved but just not labelled. But they never get saved at all. I looked through the page properties and crap and came up with a url

http://mediaframe.yahoo.com/buildlist.asp?p=sports&f=96958664&id=1355551-147140&m=wmv&r=700&l=SAV&b=dkg0po90pq9n842865d35

That's for Marcus Spears. If I use windows media player to open that url I can watch the video directly there, but again I can't save it. I also tried changing the buffer on WMP to encompass the whole clip, hoping it would be temporarily saved so I could copy and keep it. But no luck, it isn't saving the file anywhere that I can find it using the search function (for any files modified, accessed or created in the last day, then sorted by time for the most recent).

So how do I save this to my hard drive??

This program worked for me.

They have it wrapped in a Playlist. They are purposely trying to keep you from downloading maybe for copyright reasons but more likely because they want to perserve bandwidth and make you come to their site to view the clip.

I dont think there is any software to get it.

If you have a video output, on your video card or your monitor, you could then capture that feed with a capture card, probably be better to use a 2nd computer to do it.

I have used Osprey (see link below) for video capture, they work pretty good.

JD, I have your answer.

Well what your trying to do can be done farily easily, however it may
take a few tries to accomplish it. If you can, try to get it to play
it outside of your browser, such as in windows media player. That
could help to make this easier. If not its still ok.
now there are a few programs out there called Streaming Recorders. The
most popular are WM recorder and RM recorder. Which respectivly are
Windows Media recorder and Real Media recorder. They can be found at
the following website. You can purchase the software or try a
downloadable demo.
www.wmrecorder.com/index.php

best regards,
-Tim

Also, try 'streamripper'

Same thing can be done with the foxsports.com videos.

Hopefully you get to see this before it gets deleted or something.

Typically it works the way JD stated but now they are trying to be slick.

However, I will say it again if man/woman created it man/woman can defeat it.
