Overall, it was a flat effort game. Like the entire team was exhausted or disinterested. I thought that the Colts would be better at rushing today than anyone have them credit (cause their offensive line is finally much improved). Their defense is much better too and played that way.
Game plan would have worked if the execution in the red zone was better. The Colts tackled well today and it suffocated the pass game.
Not sure any fan should dog the defense much as it has carried the team all season.
The offense struggled to score points early (first three quarters) AGAIN. The defense has been able to hold most teams to like 1 td for the first 3 quarters. Today they could not.
The team has one formula for winning currently. Run heavily. Get ahead or stay within 7 points. Play stout defense. Absolutely do not get into a shootout at all costs.
Chido is a second round pick and playing just fine at this point in his young career. This being just his second season.
The offense is anemic for most games and the QB shares plenty of blame along with inconsistent O-Line play. Many of these sacks are on Dak or mostly on Dak. It's difficult to grade coaches as we are not in meetings. The call to pass to Olawale was a good one. Even though it was under thrown somewhat, it should have been a TD.
The team is 23rd in points forged and 2nd in points against. The blame for losing games including this one should fall much harder on offense than defense. Not equally. Zeke still leads the NFL in rushing and was a stud despite the loss.
The Cowboys have a 30 point point differential for the season.
A new offensive coordinator cannot fix everything and make Dak an electric passer. Tight end should be upgraded, though the group has played better lately.
Bottom line. The Cowboys can beat the best when the defense plays outstanding. Without that, they have almost no chance against the best squads.
Dak must improve on touch passing. Passing over linebackers and between the safety. Hitting moving targets with better accuracy. The owner seems determined to sign him either way, so all we can do is hope for better overall play.
I would agree the head coach and offensive coordinators probably need to leave this offseason if they don't get to the championship round. Though neither is likely to happen.
