Too many of the same player, we need bigger bodiesDid some hardcore research on Winfrey (google search). Interesting.
Wouldn’t surprise me if things finally come together and he can be a fine rotational player. Also wouldn’t surprise me if he doesn’t make the team.
You’re all welcome for the profound analysis.
Bigger? Maybe, but I’d definitely say we need more talented bodies.Too many of the same player, we need bigger bodies
Well I did and the consensus from the presenter was he had very active feet. For his 340 poundsWatch the video....
No one is asking Jay to split a gap and get up field.all this talk of Mazi losing weight , so he can be better for getting upfield, yet Jay Toia seems like the classic 1 tech at 340 lbs ...
Bass is an underrated guard, and is one of three or four who give me serious confidence in the overall depth of this OL. If Guyton has a ropey start, that guard depth really does raise the possibility of moving Smith back to tackle and shifting Guyton to the right (or benching him altogether and moving N. Thomas there). What is this writer looking at? Milton had 4.6 seconds before he had any pressure. I liked the pass blocking, especially Bass passing him off to Beebe and the o-line jamming up the rush in the middle of the line.
yet, just like Quinn regime, this new DC coach regime is re-asking Mazi to go thru the same past role and regent. No one is asking Jay to split a gap and get up field.
And apparently one will be asking Mazi to eat double teams for a snack.
Almost as if they will have different roles

I know your vested in your thoughts. But if you can, challenge those a little.yet, just like Quinn regime, this new DC coach regime is re-asking Mazi to go thru the same past role and regent.
Insteaad of letting him develop as a 1 tech for which he was supposedly drafted for out of Michigan, They are. Re-Asking him to be a 3 tech or quasi 3 tech,
even with his slow off the ball first steps. and high pad level .

I didnt see that....active but slow like he is wearing cement shoes.Well I did and the consensus from the presenter was he had very active feet. For his 340 pounds
People want it to be the 90's, where Ted Washington just had to be fat and you had a good run defense. Now your 1T/NT needs to be able to move with the line or else you are going to get thrashedYeah, I was trying to explain this previously, and so many think the NT position is only about being big and immoveable. W/o the quick feet to shuffle around blockers, your NT won't be much good.
Is it known how much weight Smith lost?I know your vested in your thoughts. But if you can, challenge those a little.
If Quinn wanted him to lose weight and be a 3t, doesn't that lend itself, right or wrong, that maybe just maybe he wasn't drafted to be a 1T?
Mazi himself has spoke to the losing weight this year and how he did it the right way gaining strength while losing it.
Im not debating right or wrong decision for him to play that. In this system it's what's being asked of him. Under Quinn it was asked of him.
I just think we should rethink why he was drafted.
Also, none of what you said in anyway changes the fact he and Toia are being tasked with different roles.
Umm going on 3 hours sleep and HE so memory fuzzy but think it was 30 pounds. Is it known how much weight Smith lost?
