This from another board. I fnd this story quite believale as Jimmy Williams is such a frickin' jerk. Here it is...

I have a friend that works for the Commanders. He is not very high up in the organization, but he recounted a story that was circulating through Commander Park about Jimmy Williams.

The Commanders brought Jimmy in for a pre-draft interview. Apparently, those interviews last a few hours and they look at a little film with the player, allow him to speak with coaches, and tour the facility. Anyway, about 10 minutes into his interview with Gibbs and Greg Williams, Jimmy's cell phone rings. Instead of turing it off, Jimmy takes the call from a friend, gets up from the table and proceeds to talk loudly to his friend for a few minutes. After he hung up the phone, he began to text message someone.

At that point, Greg Williams stood up and said that he would never allow Williams to play for him and Gibbs had Jimmy escorted out of the building.

This story certianly rings true because he was a top 15 pick at the end of the season and fell to the 37th pick in the draft because of his attitude during interviews. I think its funny because anyone who had seen him play at VT knew he was a jerk.

Saw a story (ESPN?) that said he already has a $250,000 gold Lamborghini on order.

Interesting post.
Guys like that are so stupid.
How much money did that kind of stuff cost him in the draft?
There is a big difference from top 15 in the draft to the 37th pick.
I have to wonder if Lavar Arrington had a little of Jimmy Williams attitude also.
I mean if you can't trust a guy to be responsible and respectful in an interview which could lead to millions of dollars, then why would you trust them on your team on game day?
DUMB!

Unreal. Talk about someone who is already letting it taint him.

That sounds like he is immature, and that cost him a first round pick, maybe he will learn from this.

Jeez, it is not like they were able to draft him. I mean, he was consider a top-15 guy and Commanders only had #53 pick. He was not probably interested in Commanders anyway.

BTW, Commanders can tolerate ST's assault charges but could not stand someone picking up phone calls??? If ST's phone had ringed, I bet J Gibbs could have handed the phone to ST by himself.

actually they COULD have drafted him, instead they took Miami LB Rocky Mcintosh from Miami two picks earlier after dealing up

if you are interviewing for a chance of the lifetime job, do you pick up the cell phone, walk away fron the inetrview and engage in a converation with a friend? THEN start sending text messages during the interview?

It was stupid...and its stupid to defend his behavior

It is equally stupid to think Commanders were going to draft a CB over LB. Everyone and their moms knew Commanders would draft a LB.

Shows what we fans know about the process. The ES board was wetting itself when the Skins traded up, thinking they were moving up for Williams. Instead they took, hee, Rocky McIntosh, or somebody like that.

Why does that still crack me up?

Regardless wether or not you think a "potential" employer will really hire you you still should act professional. They were, after all, interested enough to give him some of their valuable time to listen to him! Plain and simple...JW is a punk!

I suppose there is no chance Joe Gibbs or Greg Williams have friends within the NFL and there is no way they would "pass" along the details of this incident to others.

Yeah, if he did indeed do this it was stupid and probably cost him a good chunk of change.

Regardless of the football and salary implications there is a thing called common courtesy. Anyone with ANY manners whatsoever would NEVER answer their phone in the middle of a job interview(most would leave their phone on silent or in the car!)! I've watched this guy alot during his collegiate career and I can tell you he's nothing but SCUM! Him and Marcus are perfect for each other :)

He would have gotten along pretty well with Sean Taylor.

Where was that time from? VT is notorious for incredulous forty times. Besides, even if that IS his true forty time, it doesn't excuse his stupidity! LOL!
