I produce CD jackets for my bootlegs....in a program from Memorex.

My problem is I would like to share it on an exchange site (where people share their cover art) bit I cannot grab the image from the program I created in.

It's in a file, but maintains the program icon next to it, and no matter how I try to open it, it reverts to the same program I created it in. Problem is, not everyone has the same program to open it.

I've tried everything....any suggestions?

Open it to full view using the program it was created in.

Find another program somewhere that does "screen captures" and capture the image that way.

If you have Paint Shop Pro, it has a screen capture option in it.

I am sure you can find some free ones online somewhere.

Thanks...I was sure there were some out there.

Sounds like that is just what he needs.

Those kind of things also come in handy for sites that will not let you download images from them.:D

Orrrrrrrrrrrrr you can just hit PRINT SCREEN and paste it into MS PAINT which is native to just about any pos OS MS put's out. :D

Open Image
Ctrl-A to select all
Ctrl-C to Copy
Ctrl-V to paste into Paint

Save as .jpg or .gif or .tiff or .bmp

If you're concerned with the quality of the image, try downloading a free program called 'Gimp'. Gimp is pretty much like a free photoshop. There's a bit of a learning curve to it, but for simple things, it's easy as pie.

Open the file in whatever format it is currently saved in with Gimp , and save it as something more common that others can use, such as Jpeg or PNG.

Taking a screen shot of it will make it look horrendously bad.

OK I finally got it right. Using SnagIt OR Paint....I must first pull up the picture in it's program..THEN click Print Preview...trim to what I want...then snag it.

I then must convert it to a jpeg. Final result:

Agora2a.jpg

Works like a charm...thanks to all.

Yeah I used the Summertime for the front...but liked doing this back one myself.

I've been a downloading fool for the past couple of weeks, trying to pick and choose the best. Winterland was my first, Agora my 2nd...and will be moving to the Passaic night soon(was that just one show to choose from?).

Now my Bruce friends want their copies! Cheap and easy enough to do..but the artwork gets a little expensive when you're buying the ink..that ink goes fast.

EDIT: I see 2 different downloads for the Passaic show...'Written On The Wall' and 'As Dreams Don't Mean Nothing'. Which do you recommend?

I didnt see passaic night listed on that page.

that as dreams dont mean anything night for the vietnam veterans show is great.

THe passaic night that I am talking about is from september of 78, its great!

also another show that was great, is nassau night new years eve 1980. They used a bunch of stuff from that show for the official live album.

oh and you have to have the bottom line in nyc from 75 show where he played the born to run stuff for the first time.

Let me know if you cant find those shows, I will burn them for you or upload them.
