A Little Dose of Reason on Our Depth

There is some worry. Here's the order of worry and why:

1) NT -- the dropoff here is just huge!
2) OLB -- having to start one of those rooks would be bad.
3) CB -- All depends on if Ball can play it. He looked good at safety, but if he can't play cb, then we only have starters.
4) Oline -- Free looks serviceable and so does Holland. Proctor? maybe ok at center. But at least we have a decent backup guard and tackle.
5) WR -- Top 4 can all play. We'd have to lose two to worry

In fact, I don't see Oline or WR as a big problem. We would have to lose two to feel real shaky. Maybe the same for CB, but that's a question mark.

The top 2 (NT and OLB) are the weakest and instead most people are complaining about the bottom 2, where we are ok.

O line depth is a problem to me. I would change your rankings to NT, OL, CB, WR, OLB

How can you not put OLB 2nd, much less 5th? We don't even know if Spencer can play

I'd say backup NT has the potential to be a HUGE problem.

I think that's a pretty dang fair assessment. I'd like to see Brandon Williams and the other injured before I think too much about it though.

I agree on NT. I'm hoping Stephen Bowen moves over and Dixon makes it at DE. Siavii and Anderson didn't impress me.

Really how hard can it be to find a wide body that can spell the Rat for 10-15 plays a game? He just has to be big and strong- just be able to tie up two blockers on running plays. We are not asking for a pass rush.

Pretty difficult when you're relying on a guy who's been out of football since 2005.
