Several thoughts about yesterday.

1. Credit the Cowboys from top to bottom (coaching staff to the players) for a much needed and convincing win.

2. Credit Tony Romo with an outstanding performance.

3. This now sets the table for what should be another win at home vs. Seattle

But a couple of words of caution:

1. We had 2 weeks to prepare for Atlanta
2. The Saints had their worst outing of the year yesterday. Any coincidence that the Falcons and Saints play this week? Could both teams have been a little distracted? Not saying that was the case, just asking if they might have been looking ahead to that big division match up. I would guess probably not, the NFL is a week by week thing, but just wondering.

Prediction:

I believe the momentum carries over to this week's game vs. Seattle and the Cowboys get another convincing win. Then the greatest test of the season, so far, as we go on the road to Philly and then Green Bay.

We better make hay while the sun shines. After Philly and Green Bay there is Washington and Oakland, both VERY MUCH games we should win, but then IT GETS TOUGH.

San Diego
@New Orleans

There is no way the saints looked past us. Their fans might have been saying they didn't have to worry about the cowboys, but i know fact they wouldn't simply look past us. We entered the game at 3-2 and a conference opponent they would be competing against for a wild card spot if they can't catch the saints. No way they looked past us.

We're the Dallas Cowboys.

No one looks past us, no matter what they say.

I would doubt that they did also. But I did find it interesting that the Saints struggled against the Dolphins yesterday as well, and that the Saints and Falcons have their big division game this week. I really don't know that anyone looks past the Cowboys, anyway, there is still the Cowboys mystique that makes teams get up to play us.

Good post.

The reality is that the Dallas Cowboys are 4-3 and have a ton of momentum.

We just have to keep it going.

Actually 4-2, and have the Seahawks coming up. Could be 5-2 after that, then on the road to Philly and Green Bay.

Even if we hit disaster there and came home 5-4, we have Washington and Oakland at home. Lets say 7-4

then on the road for the Giants, Chargers and Saints.

Personally, I think we beat Seattle, split one of the two road games, so that we are 6-3 coming home against Washington and Oakland. I think we win both of those and go on the road with an 8-3 record.

I think we probably lose 2 of 3 on the road, and are 9-5.

Finish at Washington and at home against Philly.

Beat the Commanders and come home at 10-5 to settle a score with Philly.

THAT would be fun to watch. We'll see

That first drive Atlanta had shows me that they weren't looking past the Cowboys. They drove it right down the Cowboys throat, and the Cowboys adjusted and took the game from Atlanta. There wasn't any overseeing going on.

The way I see the rest of the season unfolding.

Seattle @ home - Should be a W
Philly and Green Bay on the road - We need to at least get a split here. Let's assume we do.
Two wins over the Skins
Win over Oakland

That gives us 9 wins. Of the remaining 4 game, we play the Giants and Saints on the road and the Eagles and Chargers @ home. If we can take two of these, we will end up 11-5. Obviously I'm assuming a lot, but It's all very doable.

On the flip side, we could split with the Skins and lose both road games to the Eagles and the Pack. That would be disaster. Can't happen if we want to play in January. I think we'll beat the Chargers at home and for some reason I think we'll beat the Giants in N.Y. IF we're healthy. Don't see us beating the Saints on the road, but we do have one of the few offenses in the league that can score with them as long as we keep the mistakes to a minumum.

Overall, I'm hoping for 11-5 because that would almost assure a playoff spot (although it didn't happen for the Patriots last year). 10-6 gets you in most years, but it can also leave you on the outside looking in.
