I know this really doesn't deserve a thread, but I was just curious. I was curious how others felt as things progressed on Sunday.

IF IT IS POSSIBLE (JUST THIS ONCE) for us not to divide from each other over love Romo/hate Romo.... or love Garrett/hate Garrett.... and just describe your feelings without degrading either of them, or defending either one of them.... then how did you feel?

Here is how I remember it for me:

1st interception - Before it was thrown I felt supremely confident. In fact, it felt like the game was easy. I actually thought that the Lions were way over-hyped. When Tony threw it, I just couldn't believe what I saw. Not only did it look like it was an easy pick for the LB, it looked like it MAY have been picked by the corner if the LB hadn't been there. HOWEVER... after the TD, I still felt confident and felt we would bounce back.

2nd interception - If I remember correctly we had run the ball several times in a row. I was STILL feeling confident about Tony and actually thought that Garrett might be overprotecting him/slowing things down a bit too much. I was glad to see him drop back for the pass play but then could not believe my eyes when the pick occurred. More than that, I couldn't believe that the guy got into the endzone. NOW I was worried. My confidence was gone and I had a feeling that we would be in a dog fight.

After our FG - I was glad that we got a little of the momentum back, but I just had a gut feel that we needed a TD there. I still felt, however that the defense had controlled them all game long and that we had probably done enough now to win the game. HOWEVER, I had kind of a sick feeling in the back of my mind that this might be just the point where the defense starts to collapse some.

The third interception - Now I was sick. It was like the outcome was settled and we just had to watch it happen. After looking at the replay I could see what Tony was trying to do, but before I saw the replay it looked like a Favre-like, lose your mind, heave. Even so, as sick as I was, I was hoping for the defense to hold them to a FG.

The penalty in the endzone - Couldn't believe it, but it was undeniable. A good call. Now, I expected the Lions to run the ball, run the clock, kick the FG and walk off the field.

TD over Newman - I was glad. Why? Because at least we had a chance.

Worst feeling after this? - When Tony got sacked. I knew it was over.

How about you?

I missed the first interception. I was enjoying Wade's defense beating the crap out of big Ben.

The whole time I thought we were going to win. After the first two INTs I just thought, oh well, our lead is still too big. As they got closer and closer, I thought well, too bad we couldn't cruise in with a win... This is tougher than it should be, but we're still going to win.

Even at the end, I really thought that semi-questionable Suh penalty that let us kick the FG might be the difference in the game and we'd win by 3.

Agree that it wasn't until the Romo sack when we had no timeouts that I thought it was probably over.

I can't diagnose and analyze myself after every turnover but I have to say I was sick. We were going to go out to eat afterwards and all I ended up eating was a quarter of my plate. It's all I ate all day. Lol I'm sure that sounds ridiculous but it's true.

When we took possession before the 1st pick I kicked my feet up and was like I am gonna enjoy this. After the 1st pick happened I saw it coming I looked at my wife and said we are in trouble. You could tell by the body language of the team.

Doesn't sound ridiculous, I've been there plenty of times. The other feeling I get sometimes, after a loss like that, is I just don't want to talk to anyone about it. Not for a day or two.

my first thought was "man, that devil JJ made that deal with is a relentless S.O.B."

Hey, your picture at the bottom of your posts. Is that Randy White? Looks too small for him. Bradshaw played early in the 70's, so it is conceivable it is Howley. Which is it?

White...

When Witten scored to make it 27-3. I started planning the rest of my day. I decided I was going to drink some beer and enjoy the rest of the game without the threat of a loss. You know, just enjoy the whole act of winning a game by a large margin. Then I was going to get some work done around the house that I had been putting off. Take advantage of that natural energy you get after a victory. Then I would have a big dinner and watch Sunday Night Football.

Then, suddenly, it all fell apart. I never did get angry for some reason though. I think I was in shock. I ended up just sitting there unable to bring myself to move. I ate almost nothing and right before bed googled and youtubed Andrew Luck a bunch of times. Went to sleep and had a dream about him and woke realizing we would never be able to get him.

Personally, I'm still not over it. My GF made me go furniture shopping today and I saw a USAToday newspaper with a headline about the Cowboy game and I got a huge knot in my stomach. I'm shooting for Wednesday to feel better. Sure wish we had a game this weekend so as to more quickly put this game in the history books.

Oh well nothing that can be done(although i keep wanting to go back and punch in that 4th down touchdown we didn't get)...who would have ever thought that would come back and haunt us when we were up 27-3!?

Wow, just doesn't look quite like him. Super Bowl shot? Or some other game?

It's definitely Chuck Howley.

Thanks BB, can always count on you for identifying this stuff. Btw, is there an entire 1970 Super Bowl video out there somewhere? I've never seen it. Cowboys/Colts?

I've got the entire 2nd quarter but that's it.

Hard to believe that there is a Super Bowl played, in the days of TV, and there is no video record of it.

Had a disgusted feeling after I watched Romo throw the first interception because it was another "what was he looking at?" type of throw.

When he threw the 2nd interception (although Laurent Robinson is partly to blame) I knew the wheels were coming off.

The rest of the game was like sitting and watching a train wreck you were told beforehand was going to happen.

If that is a Superbowl picture with Bradshaw the quarterback, then it is a picture of White. Howley retired after the 1973 season and we played Pittsburgh in the Superbowls following the 1975 (X) and 1978 (XIII) seasons.

Remember, White came out of Maryland in 1975 at about 250 lbs and Landry spent 1975 and 1976 trying to groom him to be our next great middle linebacker. He was not moved back to tackle until the 1977 season.
