Today however, we take a look ahead, not behind. Enter Jeff Heath.
To me, this post feels a little reminiscent of my post about Beasley. If memory serves, many folks simply didn't see his value to the team, and I wasn't quite so sure that was the case. The same applies today for Heath. I'd like to open with a hat-tip to this post by goose916, which also received some notoriety from the Front Page link. Now in general, I think that my positive/negative outlook opinions run counter to those of goose, but that's simply immaterial
I certainly agree that Heath is underrated and underappreciated on this board, even if he is apparently not seen the same way by the coaching staff.
Let's start here.
AKOYE Media has put up a bunch of videos dealing with Cowboys analysis. I'm not particularly a fan of the vitriol he has for the Dez release/Dak Offense - but again, that's not germane to this discussion. He's certainly entitled to use his platform to say what he wants and voice how he feels (I really do get what he's saying) - but what I'm interested in today is his views on Heath. This is a lot of time to invest, but I think these are VERY MUCH worth watching. In order from oldest to newest:
Jeff Heath: Is He In The Way Or On The Way ?
Akoye: Respect Jeff Heath (Also Special Unveiling At The End)
Jeff Heath's Not Guilty (Every Passing TD Against The Cowboys Secondary)
Note: I also recommend looking at the videos for Safety play from our other roster guys that AKOYE has presented. It's worth it.
Now I could probably end this post right here, standing solely on the shoulders of someone who has done the actual legwork of analysis, but I have a few more things to say.
Sir Thomas, the Earl of Seattle
He's the man, right? I won't argue that he has had a great career and is an extremely talented player. I found this highlight video of his play, in case you've never taken the time to watch him.
