P...Jones (1, Likely to carry 1.)
LS...Ladouceur (1, Likely to carry 1.)

4 total players currently on Special Teams. (Likely to carry 3.)

This makes 60 players currently under contract with the team. We have 8 Draft picks. This means we will add 12 more players as UDFAs or FAs before Training Camp begins unless we add picks via the Draft.

The projected starters are in bold.

Where do you see the weakest link? I still see it at Interior OL even with the signings of Livings and Bernadeau. Mostly because Costa is still there. Secondly I see a need for better CB depth. I can live with this front 7 if I have to. Those two areas, not so much.

Center is the weakest. First draft choice should be a starter-Konz in a trade back

I agree on weakest link. However, Konz is rated 45th right now and we pick 45th. I would take DeCastro and either play him at Center or move Bernadeau to Center. Truth be told my first 2 picks would be DeCastro and Konz.

I believe we need to finish this Offense.

One area of concern for me is at Safety.

I really hope Pool can stay healthy the entire season, but his concussion history concerns me. Outside of Sensy, I don't think our other Safeties are starter material. I think they are good role players.

And even with Pool, he may be a much better role player at this stage. And I think he'd do fine in that role.

EDIT: Nice thread topic by the way, Hos.

Thanks for this.

I pretty much agree. Interior OL is still a ? until they show otherwise.
I am willing to give the new OL a look in TC, but will feel much better with a strong C, then the new G's may be ok. But prefer they still draft an OG

Depth at CB, yes it is still needed. I also wouldn't mind drating a S but only if BPA and round does not matter.

I still think we need a DE, but draft same as CB depth.

Still need a pass rushing LB'er and now I beleive we need a 3rd WR.

Those would be my two picks as well, but I dont see Konz making it past NE, Balt and GB. I would also pick Decastro, but I have a feeling he might not be there at 14. If so, trade back and either use the 1st round pick for Konz or use the extra pick to trade back into the 1st round

Defensive line without question!

Next would be safety

Then interior OL

Cox
Brockers/Coples
Barron

I'm almost positive if we stay at 14 one of those 4 will be our guy

I would love to see both DeCastro and Konz added to our offensive line. Not only to protect Romo, but wear people down with Murray. Although to finish the offense, I think we still need another WR. Hopefully somebody can step up. And I want NOTHING to do with trusting Ogletree in anyway after the debacle of last year.

I could see that as well, though I'm not as high on Brockers as some.

I do appreciate that a guy with his size can set the edge, but do you really need to spend a Round 1 pick for that?

What about Josh Brent at NT? Did I miss him somewhere?

Looking at Rosters like this, you'd like to see some depth or more young potenial at:

OLB (get Ware some pass rush help and he's even better and whole secondary too).
G/C (lots of projects and veteran depth, little current impact player in middle of line)
WR (Need a 3rd WR, probably asking too much for any on roster to replace Robinson).
TE (need an excellent blocking TE for a year/two, eventually an heir to Witten)
DE (We could use an upgrade from solid to impact players here)
NT (Rat can't go forever - is Brent the answer, jury still out)
S (we only have projects and stop-gaps here STILL)
CB (mainly if this is Jenkin's last year or two due to shoulder and free agency)

Oh wait, that is almost everywhere! As usual, the starting 22 look pretty good on paper, but there are areas of depth and areas where starters could use an upgrade with impact players.

FA so far has REALLY helped fill some old holes and should allow us to not reach in draft.

I think we can upgrade Ogletree with the June cuts, or even camp cuts like last year.

Hos is right. We need to finish this offense and let it go to work and win games. Our defense is good enough and will get better with Carr.

is sammy morris not coming back? I think teh draft might change one or two positions i dont see it doing much more currently. Do we take McGee into the season? I know he has some haters, but i dont have an evaluation of him myself or if someone on the board would liek to update me, have at it.

Weak link could be center but again it might be DL line if we cant generate pressure on the QB. Thoughts on this i might be missing something.

I can't tell you how much I disagree with your post, but at the same time know the team agrees with you. I believe Brockers is going to be our pick. He shouldn't be, but probably will be.

I agree with most of what you said, but I don't think our defense is good enough, even with Carr.

But given that we're so close to finishing the offense, we should be able to do it with 2 draft picks and/or 1 draft pick and 1 FA pick at WR like you suggested.

Sammie is not currently signed by any team.

Oh, there goes the rest of my weekend. :(

I hope that's just your gut instinct and not any "inside" info.

EDIT: Here's one report on Brockers that kind of sums up how I feel:

02/29/2012 (Scout's Eye):
Michael Brockers' arms measured a rare 35 inches at the Combine and as only a 21-year-old, third-year sophomore, his best football is clearly still ahead of him. He has the size, body length and functional strength to continue developing into a solid anchor, but he lacks any twitch or explosion in his body, which was evident in his Combine workout and confirmed in the worst pair of 20-yard short shuttle times among defensive tackles (4.81, 4.87). He also did not interview well with teams, displaying a lack of maturity and intelligence that raised concerns about whether he is even worth a first-round pick and could drive down his value.

thank you sometimes you dont realize how much the little info helps some of us, as you know being a worker and i know you're a father, you have little time, and some of us have sparing time and we like to keep current but its hard, but when you give us info we are so grateful.

How do you think the DL will change this year depending on the draft and what we can do this offseason and if we're going to see either more sacks or turnovers of the ball. While i was disappointed with the D some things im not seeing as others are.

Center, without a doubt that is our biggest hole..

The next thing has to be NT, I love Big Rat but still believe he's a DE playing nose. If we get a big strong guy up front and slide Rat over that one move creates a greater pass rush..

Would love to get another guard after that...

I think Atkins, Calloway, and Coleman are going to be gone. I do believe Lissemore is going to be given a chance to start and if we Draft Brockers as I suspect he will start opposite with Ratliff still in the middle.
