I haven't found a link for this yet. It was reported on the radio. He was on a long 22 hour drive back to College Station.
Unfortunately in fatal car crashes it is the driver who most often survives and the passengers who do not.As a Ute fan, terrible thing. Looks like the driver (another Ute freshmen who survived) overcorrected to the right and rolled. Probably fell asleep at the wheel.
He was the only one wearing a seatbelt and lived. Goes to show you that you have to wear your seatbelt in your car. By and large, rollover fatalities are due to not wearing one.
He's going to have a heavy conscience the rest of his life.
