Actually, that is a lie. It's good to get out of the house sometimes. I'm not sure I want to telecommute unless it's only a couple of times a week max.

I've been in hours-long commutes, $$$ commutes, live close to work, free park commutes, and in fact telecommuted for a year from home. Yes, it is indeed good to get out...which I chose to do myself a couple days a week usually, commuting to a downtown skyscraper office in ATL...
