Trying to use Claiborne as bait to try and move up a few spots in the third ( 10 or so) to secure a target. We pick in a bad spot in that round in that a good portion of our talent pool available will be day 3 talent

Claiborne isnt going to net you much in any trade. I dont see a team giving up any pick for him straight up, and they may not even want him at all. However a team may be enticed to take him in a trade down and see if they can get something out of the former 6th overall pick.

However I think the real upside to any trade up involving Claiborne is simply it gets a bad, mentally, stupid and fragile football player off of our team. He's not like Carr is a useful football player. There have been very few times in the past two years he wasnt a complete liability. With the addition of Jones, we now have very little need for him. I actually feel better about Patmon getting snaps then Claiborne

No one is going to trade for a guy coming off of a torn patellar tendon, and one who wasn't exactly tearing it up before that.

Claiborne is going to be a camp body if he can become healthy by then. I don't expect either him or carr on this roster by week 1.

Probably going to be a challenge to move him for anything.

Aside from the fact that he's injured and hasn't been very good when he's been on the field, he is carrying a $5+ mil cap hit.

At this point in the offseason you're really looking at just the Jags, Browns, Titans, Bucs, Raiders, Bengals as teams that still are so far under the cap that they would even entertain the thought.
