As we all start paying more and more attention to next years draft, and start reserching players - I have a name for people.
Hercules Mata'afa.
Washington State Dlineman.
6'2" 252 # plays weakside end, and D tackle !!!
Consesous all american, and today named polynesian college football player of the year.
Went to highschool here on Maui (Lahinaluna) my Ex's son was the center on the team.
Hercules was a man amongst boys.
Will continue to grow into his body and has really unusual strength.
Just a name to keep an eye on. And he beat Vita Vea for the award ...

He's kind of a tweener. He plays DT for the Cougars but is way too small to play there in the NFL. I don't know that he has the skill set to be an effective edge guy.

He reminds me of Teddy Bruschi who was a really good, albeit undersized DT at Arizona in the Desert Swarm days. The Patriots drafted him in the 3rd round and moved him to Inside Linebacker.

Yeah, that's the projection for him right now 2-3 rounder. He is a tweener, but his coach was saying that he would like to see him used as a down lineman. That, like other tweeners lately, he might not do so well playing in space (LBer) straight out of college and would be better used with his hand in the dirt. Will be interested to watch him thru the process, people here saying outside linebacker in a 3/4. Bullishly strong, just great seeing a kid I watched at high school now having success in college and will probably get drafted.
