COULD DIVORCE CASE CHANGE STRAHAN’S MIND?

Posted by Michael David Smith on August 25, 2008, 7:15 p.m.
A New Jersey appeals court ruling that is due tomorrow could sway Michael Strahan’s decision about whether to return to the Giants or stay retired.
According to the New York Post, a New Jersey state appeals court is expected to rule Tuesday on how much money Strahan owes his ex-wife, Jean Strahan. Per the Post, Michael Strahan has already paid half of a $15.3 million award to Jean Strahan, but the ruling coming tomorrow will determine whether Jean is also entitled to a $6.5 million payment as part of a pre-nuptial agreement.
Strahan walked away from a $4 million base salary with the Giants in 2008 to take about $2 million to work as an analyst for Fox. So if money was his only motivation, he wouldn’t have retired in the first place.
But now that Osi Umenyiora is hurt, the Giants are believed to be offering significantly more than $4 million to get Strahan to change his mind. And the combination of such an offer with, potentially, an appeals court ruling that would leave Strahan lighter in the wallet, could be just the nudge Strahan needs to get back on the field.

WOW, this guy is getting all kinds of attention.

I want him to come back. How long would it take himi to get back into football playing shape? 5-6 weeks? Thats a 1/4 of the season gone by then. I don't think he'd be an upgrade on what they have backing up Osi, until 5-6 weeks into the season, if that.

I can't see him staying away honestly. But he should. I don't think that the Giants will be as successful this year.

Tell Jerry to offer him $9,000,000 to stay retired... That would P*** off the Giants. :lmao:

yeah but what if strahan that was allowed fox sports access to see plays, formations, talk to players getting little secrets from them how they would beat a certain player. Now, if Strahan has all of that knowledge, and be allowed back to join the team and tell them those secrets, etc, that could be damaging to opposing teams.

I heard from a friend of mine that Strahan strictly viewed all of the teams, he scouted all of the teams that the Giants play this year. Now, what is up with that????????

And is that legal, to allow him to come back and blab what he saw at the Cowboys practices, eagles practices, etc. Its kinda like Michael Irvin said one time, when he interviewed with John Madden, Irvin told Madden some of the tricks he used against cornerbacks, and Madden promised he wouldnt tell. BUT on television, Madden showed it all what and how Irvin was getting away with some tricks, etc.

So, what if Strahan asked certain players how did you get the jump on this player or that player, and if the player blabbed, now Strahan knows how to beat you, and tell the Giants coaches.
