[Verdict]

A person's perception of a team is often based in part by a trends. I think our arrow is pointing up as a general rule based in part on the following "trends":

1. We have won 4 out of the last 5 games. That's good stuff and helps cure what ails ya.

2. The running game and offensive line is picking up steam AND consistency.

3. Lawrence looks like the real deal.

4. The defensive front 7 looks for real now that Irving is back and and Hitchens is back and Lee is healthy. We have a little depth on the DL but are thin at linebacker.

5. The run defense is getting better over time.

This is a Superbowl calibre team. The greatest weakness is the secondary -- I worry it will be their undoing in the playoffs, however, I also realize in the modern NFL not even platoon on the club is going to be great.

I have to agree, it feels like (for once) that we might actually be one of those teams that picks up steam as the season goes on and catches fire going into the playoffs... as opposed to previous seasons where we start off strong and fade away in the 2nd half of the season/playoffs.

At the very least, I think we're currently better than our 5-3 record indicates (Parcells-isms be damned)

Their weakness is also at LB. The entire defense and likely the season hinges on the hope that a player that has an injury history stays healthy. If he can't this defense has shown it will go to crap quickly without him on the field.
