Smith has never had surgery on his back, he has thus far refused to have surgery and prefers rest to the prospects of surgery.I'm worried about Smitty. Romo said he's had back issues for a while now dating back to at least last year.
The Cowboys have a lot of pieces to build upon and be a playoff contending team for years to come.
1) A young franchise QB with Dak Prescott.
2) A young generational RB with Ezekiel Elliott.
3) A good young offensive line with Frederick, Martin,Tyron and Collins.
4) A good young defensive line with Lawrence, Irving, and Collins.
5) A potentially good young defensive backfield with Lewis, Chido and Woods.
6) A good kicker.
7) I think 9 selections in the upcoming draft.
It's unbelievable how getting kicked in the mouth one week and everybody thinks this team sucks.
I stopped reading right after the first sentence, maybe you touched base on what i'm about to type. Many fans think winning a SB is to be expected. We are the Cowboys; how can this be? We must win before Romo is done. Now we have a better team with a young nucleus, and we have to win before the other vets get old. We all want to win, but doesn’t anyone actually look forward to each Sunday’s game, win or lose? Is winning the only joy you can find in it?
I remember when the Cowboys had stars, but they couldn’t win anything in the 60’s. I remember the Dallas dynasty with Roger Staubach and other super stars losing more Super Bowls than they won. I remember watching the Landry led team gradually fall apart and become a bottom of the NFL team. I watched every painful game as the Dallas Hillbillies went 1-15 in their first year, and as much as those 15 losses hurt, I was hopeful every week.
Winning SB’s is not easy and requires a lot of talent and luck. Jimmy Johnson built one great team thanks to the triplets. He inherited Irvin, pulled the no brainer drafting of Aikman, and almost screwed it all up wanting to draft the LB Francis over Emmitt Smith...a little luck. He couldn’t pull it off again.
The Cowboys are not a championship team and are still building and growing as a defense, and the reality is this team could win a couple Super Bowls in the next 5 years or win nothing for another decade. It’s not that easy, not even for the Cowboys.
We actually got kicked in mouth two weeks out of a nine week season to date. The Cowboys have a lot of pieces to build upon and be a playoff contending team for years to come.

Jed's been selling Hope for 25+ years and most fall for it hook, line and sinker. Don't feel bad...... there's millions of them. Sane fans know better.Exactly. It’s always about “next year” and “potential” with this team
‘Everybody’ would include you too. Good post. It's unbelievable how getting kicked in the mouth one week and everybody thinks this team sucks.
Collins is struggling with pass protection and we've been kicked in the teeth a lot this season. Denver massacered Dallas......and they SUCK. Out coached against the Rams and now the Falcons. The Cowboys have a lot of pieces to build upon and be a playoff contending team for years to come.

Your post is all good but no one wants to wait anymore. We been doing that for a long time!
And the list goes on and on! Yes it's a lot to endure. I don't even know what to say anymore. I was born in 77 so i missed those 70's SB's. In 92 i made a pact with God or whoever was listening and i fear this is why we keep losing, or maybe i'm just losing my mind!Exactly. It's like every year we wait around to see how we will get kicked in the nuts.
Injury to Romo, injury to Lee, injury to Romo, injury to 18 DL, coaching change, bad draft picks, NFL salary cap screw job, NFL railroad of Zeke, refs screw job on Dez, refs acre job on any calls or non call. Coaching mistake after coaching mistake.
I don't know about others, but my nuts are getting tired of it and are sore.
Look Chuck! I'll watch and pull for my team thru thick and thin just like you ,,,but to tolerate the inability to address on Field issues immediately ( turnstile on that left flank) is inexcusable, it's one thing to lose a contested battle, it's an entirely different outlook on things when it's obvious the disparity in penalties being called and when(amongst other pertinent thumbs in the eye conducted by the league towards this team), are fully on display, as it's pretty easy to think at times you're playing against a stacked deck, for whatever it's worth to you Chuck 54 this current 'PROCESS' isn't working and is getting redundantly ridiculous considering the simple perceived objective of the game and what the team suits up for on Sundays,,, MAN,we got our A**es waxed out there Sunday, paint it however you want with the 'if's'&'buts' the simple fact is we ain't going anywhere this year,as that game was pretty crucial in establishing thatMany fans think winning a SB is to be expected.
