A Possibility (DMAC, AJ, & CJ)...

To begin with, let me give the meaning behind the initials (as if I REALLY needed to):

DMAC - Who else??:D
AJ - Adam "Pacman" Jones
CJ - Chad Johnson

Let's assume that we trade a 5th rounder for Pacman.

IF Jerry REALLY wants to trade up and get DMAC, and let's assume it's with Oakland for the 4th pick, then here's a possible trade scenario:

1. I would give up our 2 firsts, our 2nd, Akin Ayodele, and both 6th rounders. In return we get Oakland's 1st and 2nd round picks.

2. I would then use Oakland's 2nd rounder (which should be a very high one) and try to trade down into the middle of the 2nd round, possibly picking up an extra 3rd rounder or undoubtedly a 4th rounder. I would then use that middle 2nd round pick on a CB. If this is too risky, I simply stand pat with the high 2nd rounder and go CB. Either way, we should be able to get a VERY good CB with this pick.

3. I would use our 3rd rounder on either an ILB (Beau Bell of UNLV) or NT (Red Bryant of A&M). Either way, my targets in the 3rd and 4th round would be an ILB and NT. If we're not able to get an extra 3rd rounder, then I use our own 3rd rounder, packaged with our 2nd rounder in 2009, in a trade for Chad Johnson.

4. I would use our 4th on either ILB or NT.

5. If we pick up an extra 3rd rounder, I would send that extra pick and next year's 2nd rounder to Cincinnati for Chad Johnson. We would still have a 3rd rounder to use on either ILB or NT. In this scenario, I would think that ILB would be a higher priority.

6. I would use our 7th rounder on an offensive lineman, perhaps guard or center.

Again, just a possiblity...

i stopped reading at oaklands 2nd round pick cause i believe that is 1 of 2 picks they gave up for hall. i'm pretty sure they only have 1 pick(#4 overall) in the 1st 3 rounds. but i think it's a longshot we get a vet wr(roy, quan, ocho) and dmac. i think it would be one or the other. i could see us getting dmac this year and roy next year. but we will find out for sure in a month or so

It's highly unlikely that will happen for so many reasons.

First, obviously, one is that Oakland no longer has a second round pick. The Falcons own that. So that destroys your scenario from jump street.

Second, it's just too much money to sign Dmac and Chad Johnson. It just aint gonna happen. Sorry. But you gotta love the pre-draft period, where anything is possible in the way of trades, even to the point of bulking other teams out of their draft picks with overvalued, washed up stars from our beloved Cowboys team. :D

Ooops...missed the point on Oakland giving up their 2nd rounder to Atlanta in the trade for Hall. Nonetheless, YOU need to warm up to the increasing reality that Jerry will go after a Vet WR, possibly before the draft.

Besides, I'm not advocating that we trade up for DMAC, but this is a way forward, absent Oakland's now-voided 2nd rounder.

While this scenario seems implausible, Peter King did mention the Cowboys acquiring all 3 of these players today in his article on si.com. I'm warming to the idea of D-Mac, and Pac Man, but not Ocho Stinko.

McFadden is a difference maker, a home run hitter. Teaming him with Barber, and having the threat of scoring from anywhere on the field when he's in there is enticing.

For the price, supposedly a 5th rounder, Pac Man Jones could fill 2 dire needs - a corner and a return man. Now, I'm fully aware that you can't possibly count on this guy because of his past, but I really trust Calvin Hill and the rewards would far outweigh the minimal risk of a 2nd day draft pick imo.

Chad Johnson will be 30 this season. That's not ancient for a receiver, but I'd like to try and groom a first rounder to become our 2nd receiver and eventual replacement for T.O. They need to get a young receiver in this draft, Ocho would stop them from doing that.
