I’ve been reading a lot of, “DURRRRRR BUT WE WAS LOSING WITH DAK TOO SO WHO CARES DAK SUX DURRRRRRR” lately.

Here’s why you’re a football-ignorant buffoon if that sounds like you.

From 2011-13, we went 8-8 each year with Romo under center. We had a terrible defense and a terrible offensive line, although we did have some strong offensive skill-position players. SOUND FAMILIAR??? Does anyone still think Romo sucked? Stop reading if your answer is “yes”, you don’t know football and should never be allowed to watch a game ever again.

Drew Brees
From 2014-16, the Saints went 7-9 each year with Brees under center. Their defense was complete garbage and Brees needed to score a ton of points each week just to keep them in games. Does anyone think Drew Brees sucked? Again, you’re an idiot if your answer’s “yes” and you should slap yourself silly so that I don’t have to.

Dak has been in those same exact shoes this season. Horrific defense, horrific OL. DESPITE THAT, he has kept us in every single game and the offense has scored a ton of points.

THAT is how you know you have an elite QB. When there’s complete garbage around him and he STILL gives you a chance every week.

That’s what we had in Romo and now, that’s what we have in Dak.

Notice the difference when Dak’s not in there now? Yeah, that hasn’t been a surprise to any of us who actually know football.

It’s a surprise to YOU, the know-nothing Dak hater reading this post, because you don’t know football.

Every pass has to be perfect, every pass has to be put in a 6 inch window, blah blah blah. Dak is a good QB. Elite is debatable, but definitely good enough to get you to the Super Bowl. It’s obvious now right? But don’t worry, we’ll continue to see the ridiculous draft Trevor Lawrence calls from those select few...

People that want to shout out about how Dak averages 30 points a game forget how Dak led the Cowboys to 9 points against the Eagles in what was a win and your in playoff type game. I believe Dak also led this high powered offense to 9 points against the Saints too.

Not really! Dak wasn't winning games. The Cowboys were very lucky not to be 0-4 with Dak driving the bus. And Dalton gets the win for the Giants game so each guy had one win. You say one game but it wasn't just one game. Dak lays an egg almost every time this team plays another team that is half decent. See Bills and Bears last season. There is no way this team would have anymore wins if Dak didn't get hurt.

Even though I'm in the don't pay Dak crowd, I do agree with most of what you said. Quarterbacks don't play in a vacuum, supporting cast has a lot to do with wins and losses. A lot of people seem ignorant to that.

Go back to the Wentz praise in 2017. He's the real deal! What is that supposed to mean? He struggled in his rookie season without weapons. The 2017 team was way better. I'd even say stacked for today's standards. Everyone wanted to polish his jock strap because he played so well. He was an average to good starter, just like Nick Foles. Wentz was never a great quarterback. Now we see it when his supporting cast isn't up to par. This is the case to some extent with every quarterback. Even the elite quarterbacks. Tom Brady last year. Still went 12-4 without much on offense. You have to consider supporting cast when judging a QB. No argument from me there.

Of course there are games he could have done better, but you are looking at one season, and there is more than just the O-Line that factors in.

As for Dak not being "elite", I agree with that, but elite isn't as easy to find as some think. A team can't just make a decision to dump a very good QB with the expectation they can just snatch up an elite one.

Right now I would say Mahomes, Rodgers, Brady and Wilson are "elite", and some might include Big Ben or Jackson. The fact it takes going back to QBs drafted over 20 years to come up with that many shows how rare it is, and the reality is 26-28 teams are going to have to get the best QB they can outside that elite realm and build a team that can win with that. I would easily put Dak at or near the top of that next level just behind elite.

At the end of the day, it is the team falling short, and while Dak is part of it, he isn't all of it.
