I was out of town the week he was signed so maybe I missed this, but why did the Cowboys decide to move him inside when they could just as easily kept him outside? Is it because they trust Singleton more than they do Shanle or because Ayodele played OLB on the opposite side or what?

Because we needed an ILB, and there are plenty of tweener OLBs to choose from in the draft

Well we also needed an OLB and the draft is just as deep on ILB's.

And just because Yo Yo will be listed as an inside 'backer, it doesn't mean he can't be used outside on certain downs or occasionally play DE on third down.

He has the girth coach wants on the inside to better handle run duty.

Draft is nowhere as deep in quality ILBs, than it is in OLBs

I think they just feel he is a tackling machine and would be better suited on the inside in the 3-4 .

It could be a smoke screen. People will think that we're going to draft an outside linebacker, but instead we're getting an inside linebacker in the 2nd or 3rd..

You just never know... :)

He's a tackle machine as opposed to a big play, pass rushing type LB. Putting him a ILB fits his skills better.

Does Jacksonville run a 3-4? If so, why didn't they put him on the inside?

I'm not saying this is a bad move, I'm just trying to understand it a little better.

the jaguars have john henderson and marcus stroud, they'd be idiots to play in the 3-4

They run a 4-3. They have Mike Peterson at MLB who is pretty good.

Also, word is, Jack Del Rio just didn't like Akin, he was drafted under the old regime.

A) Not as athletic as you'd want out there.

B) BP prefers his OLB's 6-5/250.

C) KB and Al S go at SOLB.

I agree, when you look at the potential in this draft at OLB you have to think the Cowboys will snatch one of them up!!! (Hopefully Lawson or Wimbley)

Ayodele said he was told that he'll be tried at ILB and OLB to see where he fits best. If we don't land an OLB high in the draft, he very well could start at SOLB.

Not very fast, but can tackle like nobodies business. So slide him inside, and in certain occasions, you move him outside. Just like last year, in some of the games, I saw them Move Ware to the opposite side, and sometimes to the middle.
