1) This loss didn't end our season, just like the Colts getting shellacked by 30 at home to the RAMS (!!!) didn't end their season.
2) Coaching won't win you anything if the players suck, and the "next man up" mantra has its limits. When your D is without SEVEN projected preseason starters and on the road vs one of the best offenses in football, the results generally won't be pretty. Once again, injuries on that side of the ball are screwing us bigtime. I know it's not as satisfying/therapeutic to blame a poor performance on an absurd rash of injuries as it is to blame coaches/front office, but it is what it is. Ware was our only starter on the DL playing, and he wasn't 100%. Carter was our only starting LB playing after Lee/Durant went down. Half our starting secondary was out.
3) Offense sucked. Romo sucked. But the Saints DO have a good D and when the opposing O has to play catch-up, they're playing into the Saints' hands. Whatever Romo and the O could've mustered wouldn't have been enough anyways. Total team loss. Lick your wounds, try to get healthy, and get ready for the Giants. Bye week couldn't have come at a better time.
