Hi All,
I am planning on visiting New Orleans in early November to catch the Sunday night Cowboys game and see the sites. Still debating on whether to splurge for tickets, but wanted to find out if anyone knows a good place for a Cowboys fan to watch the game should I decide to not get tickets. I have heard there are alot of Cowboys fans in NO and I was secretly hoping there is a Cowboys sports bar. And if not, which is most likely, I was hoping for a nice sports bar with large TVs and good food and brew.
My wife and I thank you in advance!

Not really....I'm not saying that there aren't any, but there's not any sort of significant cowboy "presence" in Nola, at least not to the degree of the infiltration of DFW and Houston by the Saints fan base since the storm. The rest of Louisiana is another story.

I'm unaware of any actual "official" cowboy sports bars, however, fanbases such as the cowboys that travel well (along with Washington, Green Bay, Pitt, and SF) usually "take over" several establishments on bourbon street on game day (owners cater to the mighty $) and generally have a great time, win or lose....

For example:

There were sports bars in San Jose full of Cowboys fans that I'd go watch the games at, so I'm sure there are some in New Orleans.

Be wary of Bourbon Street after the game if you are wearing Cowboys gear, especially if Dallas wins. My wife and I went in 2009 and Friday night was fine, with playful taunts, but Saturday night was a different story. We went back to the room and changed before any altercations started.

Thanks, good to know. I just have to find out the best way to find these places come game night.

It's hard enough to find working electricity and someone with an active brain cell down there. A Cowboys bar might be shooting a bit high.

Depends what you're looking for. Plenty of bars in the quarter but no strictly "sports bars" I can recall from all my visits. If you want something closer to a sports bar your best bet may be to hang out in a hotel bar. The bar at the W hotel has nice flat screens and a bunch of tables with their own self-serve beer taps. Another option may be to watch at Harrahs casino on Canal, it may be more the atmosphere you're looking for.

Actually I don't care want kind of bar. Just want someplace with good tvs, drinks and food. I actually like smaller pubs in general, as long as I can see the game well.

Doesn't matter which bar you roll into, there will be Cowboy fans there, so you will not be flying solo!

Careful what you are asking for.

I was once looking for a cartridge belt and holster for a Colt Single Action Army I picked up. Googled "Cowboy Leather"!

:omg:

Results were not what I expected.

If you want to see something, then go to Coyote Ugly, I don't remember any TV when I was there, but I wouldn't have watched it anyway when they were up on the bar and dancing...oh wait, you said the wife is going...

forget it... :D

A guy i went with got bombed and basically fell in love with one of the bartenders (BIG boobs)...he borderline stalked her a little, I thought he was going to get killed...even the next day when he was seriously hung-over, he wanted to go back and find her....we couldn't make ENOUGH fun of him....good times....
