A lot has been written about the Cowboys demise and rightfully so. The offense needs some retooling but can be made whole again quickly. The receivers need to be taught how to run routes or replace them. The OL needs a couple of very good replacements/backups for injuries. But the real problem is at coaching. The first change is at QB coach that can solve the technique problems with Dak. The next coach change is OC who understands tactical changes and when to use them. It is hard to watch other teams who can change direction on a dime when needed. The head couch needs to be sat down with the GM and the facts of modern NFL play explained or a change needs to be made here as well.
The defense has a real good start but does need a few new parts. The middle of the defense is the problem followed by the secondary play. A real nose tackle, two more LBs who are field generals too, and couching change for LBs and secondary.
Now you have my changes for the off season that need to be made for the Cowboys to stay with the Eagles and make a run at the Super Bowl.:)

By the way the title should read "A Real QB Coach is Needed BADLY" if the Mods will correct. Also all the couches to coaches.

Thank you

I don't think all the players forgot how to play football since last year
I think lenahan's offense does very little to resemble what he installed last year. I can't believe he has a quarterback Who throws as good as anybody I've ever seen on the move and yet he wants to make him a drop-back pocket passer. Where was Jason Witten the other night that was screaming for a tight end but yet we didn't call his number I would have been happy with a 6 or 8 yard gain on first down. Why did we stop running outside when we were getting 10 + yards every single time.
Don't get me started on rodless Marinelli.
So there is what you need get ginger and the merry men out the door.
And yes Wade Wilson can go with them

I am not doubting anyone at all. I’d love detailed anyalysis that compares our uncomplicated offense with a “modern offense”.

I’d also like the halftime adjustments quantified with some examples of what other coaches have done against us. Anyone could see them not adjusting to Green getting killed the entire game, but what are some others.

Make no mistake. Although I’ve been quiet about it I’ve never been on board with Garrett, but I was willing to give him plenty of chances. He simply seems unqualified, and yes his clapping is likely an attempt to mask his incompetence.

As for Rod I see clearly how the game has passed him by. Continually giving receivers 10 yard cushions as conceding 6-7 yard plays is just dumb.

I get the feeling offensive coordinators know exactjy what the D will do and how they will react to scheme.
A great player like Lee actually enables him to continue to not attempt outsmarting(scheming) the offense.

It’s past time to move on.

Why did we start trying to run right on key downs when it wasn't working and running left was?

We had a key third and 2 where they shifted Beasley into the backfield and instead of running left which had been more successful, they tried to run behind Cooper and Bell. They got smashed.

Wade Wilson is just a holdover from the 90’s cowboys glory years.

He hasn’t developed a QB yet.

I honestly believe Tony Romo and Mark Sanchez helped Dak last year far more than Wilson.

I never realized that Wilson has been here since 2007. Holy hell.

I guess when you had Romo, you could cover up the fact you had a boob as a QB coach. Now he's being exposed.

All of the assistant coaches need replaced, I have been saying that for years. If Garrett, Linehan an Marinelli are going to be around here for the next few years. at least get better position coaches. Maybe keep Jackson in the secondary, he seemed to make some difference last year. But Baker needs to go.

What DT had Leon Left develop and how long has it taken for the DE's to do something. But we still lack there. A disruptive DE could have and they should have got to Wentz more.

No RB or WR has been developed. And Zeke does not count, talent like that came in developed. I just hope Dooley doesn't screw up Noah Brown.
Pollack and Columbo on the OL since taking over, still waiting on that one. May be ok.
Wade Wilson at QB coach, he needs to go.

What about the QA coaches and game film preparation, are they doing their jobs?

Replacing the entire staff , been posted enough, we know the answer there. But that won't happen, so I doubt theses assistants will be replaced either. not for a few more years. And not any of them are good enough for other teams to hire them away.

The team badly needs Romo to return as QB coach. If you ask Dak last year what helped him progress into a star and helped him along the season he would say Romo was in his ear , helped him in the film room etc. Now that he is no longer here, and the fact Dak never got to sit back for a year or two to evaluate a true pro is now hurting him. #9 had a true strategic mind for the game.

I actually think we have a fantastic team for a young QB. That is very evident looking at Dak and now Cooper Rush. Even Romo transformed into a gunslinger that threw too many interceptions into an elite QB his last few years.

What we don’t have is a staff that can call plays that aren’t reactive. We don’t have a staff that can gameplan when the team isn’t at 100%. We don’t have a staff that can make halftime adjustments.

I think the coaching staff is good beside on game day. They can coach up players well, they usually motivate well and I do think Garrett is a decent evaluator of talent, at least offensively. That is not enough though if you’re not good on game day.

My guess is that if this season results in a missed playoff appearance again, they'll offer up some sacrificial lambs............ so maybe a guy like Wilson gets canned............. or the WR coach is gone. Or maybe even they get Marinelli to retire.

But barring a collapse, I have no faith they'd make wholesale changes to the entire staff or even better, fire Garrett and blow the thing up and start over with an entire new staff.

No way Tony returns to be a QB coach. He is making way more money announcing. and it is something he seems to enjoy. And so much less stress. And probably less hours, especially in the off season.

He gets to travel, so there is a per diem expenses he gets also most likely.

Our defensive line has been great at being disruptive. Even in the Eagles game, we hit Wentz all game long..he just got up and kept fighting. Truthfully...Wentz wasn’t that great, he didn’t do enough to win until the Eagles started running the ball. He barely completely half his passes and didn’t even top 170 passing yards...we just got bashed in the run in the second half which calmed down our rushers and allowed a little bit to open up for him.

If Marinelli goes, they would just promote Eberflus. And he, himself has never developed any LB's. And he would probably run the same schemes.
Unless the entire staff goes, it will be same crap.

Well there were too many times they "almost" had him, or had him and he got away. I don't recall him getting hit all that much to make a difference. Too many times I seen 3 of our DL bottled up by 3 or 4 OL / TE but no other player came free to rush Wentz.
