It's the 4th decade since the Cowboys have been to the NFC championship... so, it's time to trade away picks, whatever it takes to get into the 1st round.

#7 Arvell Reese
#15 Caleb Downs S Ohio State
#22 Spencer Fano OT Utah
#75 Caleb Banks DT FLorida
#152 Nicholas Singleton RB Penn State
#177 Vincent Anthony Edge Duke
#180 Preston Hodge CB Colorado
#218 Caden Curry Edge Ohio State

I had to trade away picks from 2027 in the PFN simulator, but Dallas still had one 1st rounder remaining. If given the option, I'd trade away both 1st rounders in 2027 for advantages in 2026.

Try out a "reckless draft", to see what the Cowboys can get in what many call a weak overall 2026 draft. In a weak draft getting most of the top heavy talent gives the Cowboys even more of an advantage. It's the perfect year to go for it!

Don't wait until next year's "strong draft" when every team improves evenly.

That’s just how the draft fell. I found it a little unrealistic that Reese was there but I’d take Styles if he were available instead
Safety from THE Ohio State... He was like 225 in my draft but I needed a lb so I took Barton Curry is a beast once he gets on a roll kinda like Zawyer now in Pittsburg. I knew his cousins when I went to HS way back when. Or maybe they were his Uncles .. I don't know

I like the e enthusiasm and positivity but I don’t think Reese and Downs will make it the pick you have us taking them.

The Cowboys only have one 1st round pick in 2027. They sent one to the Jets for Quinnen Williams. Jets will get the better of the two picks.
Exactly.

And I don't expect a draft sim to be accurate to this level of detail, but Dallas can't trade either 2027 first round pick until the end of the '26 season. No telling which pick will be better.

Theoretically, I don't mind loading up in this draft with picks from next year just because of the timeline this team is on.

But these are just not the players I would go after with that mindset.
