Having been part of this loose affiliation called Cowboyzone..

I have come to the conclusion we all fall somewhere in these main divisions:

1 - The Rear View Mirror Lookers

These fans spend most of their time looking back at better times and comparing current players to former players to express their support.

They compare Emmitt to Zeke, Aikman to Romo and Dak to ?

They make sure the rest of us never forget how good we were no matter how bad we are now.

2- The Forward Lookers

These fans are always comparing the present team to past teams. They typically always feel the best is right around the corner.

They also compare coaches and assistant coaches but notice they never compare DCC members. Out of bounds no doubt.

3- The We Only Care About the Here and Now-ers Lookers

These fans want immediate gratification. They are not happy with down turns by the team. They do not accept excuses and conditional gratification.

They are usually found to have aliases like " Gimme the Ball" and " Touchdown Tony" and "Go For It" and are admired by the other two groups becuz if they roll the dice and lose..they still sleep well at night knowing they tried their best.

Now I know you guys know of more fan types I have missed. Feel free to list them here and elaborate so we can have some entertainment.

Example:

"We only believe in draftees"

"Any of 500 coaches can win with this team"

"Where did I put my pistol? The plane leaves in 5 minutes"

"Free agents can't be trusted"

Etc.

ill send my vote in by mail it may never get to you and might be duplicated but....

im nether i live in the now and try and be year to year evaluator and look forward to each year being new and unique..no need to compare many teams retool and are different year to year..not many make long runs see the eagles what happened to that SB team..? 49ers were going to make run and well what happened? Ravens hit hump..NE is the last dynasty i dont think teams will ever have a long run ever again.. F with big time players being traded or cut in their primes demanding trades, cap casualty's and college ready players make teams have to retool yearly..

cant stand the crowd that keep reminding's of our so called drought ,any coaches and teams have changed since then and each years there always hope we can change that and are far from he only team thats taken while to get back to the big game..

what about the fans only here for the Cheerleaders?
 
I just watch the games and form opinions. Some good, some bad, some neutral. Wherever that lands me, it lands me.
 
You have to look at the here and now to understand how to move forward. You look back only to learn from the past, not to wallow in it.

I have often accused Jerry of trying to replicate the 1990s Cowboys, especially the Triplets. This is chasing the past and a big mistake. It is what I think convinced him to sign Zeke to a $90 million extension even as he was clearly showing signs of fading.

It's 100% entertainment to me. I research things that interest me, but nothing affects my emotions less than something I have zero control over. Here to goof and talk with friends, but it's not life or death. I feel for the fans that constantly troll and bash certain players. It really is kind of sad.
 
I consider myself a member of each of those groups. I grew up with the Cowboys from the mid 60's until now so sure I take pride in what this franchise has done in the past and thankful to say I witnessed it.
2nd group I don't spend much time trying to compare but there are times when you look to compare the past to present. Lastly right now all I do care about more than anything else is what this team does now and in the future, the past while great is still the past and only thing that matters is getting this team back to the top. We may have different views of how we go about that but future is all that matters.

Blending things always applies.

I think I am mostly a #3.

I like to enjoy or hate the moment.

Like tonight.

Going to hate this..Ravens have everything to win with.

While we just hope this spanking won't hurt too much.
