A Silver Lining?

This is probably the stupid optimist in me that makes up the majority of my Cowboys fandom but I really hope this trade is Jerry giving Garrett a #1 WR, but really taking away any excuses Garrett could make for this season not to result in a playoff birth, at least based on the team he's put together and ways he's chosen to scheme/ coach/ etc. I reeeally hope that's what this is. If Garrett wins with Cooper, great, then we win. If he doesn't, I fervently hope that mean a new coach gets to give this lineup a shot.

What really worries me though, is with Cooper on the last leg of his deal we run the risk of having to pay he, Dak, and Zeke almost all at once. Plus resign Tank, Irving, and hopefully an offseason deal for ET. We are about to be in cap Hell again.

Problem with this theory is we're robbing our potential next head coach of a 1st round pick, basically forcing him to deal with the talent we already have.

The only silver lining here is that hopefully Jerry told Garrett he could try to save his job.

Garrett responded by trading for Cooper.

This way Jerry feels okay when he fires Garrett because he allowed him to do what he needed to save his job.

That is the only silver lining. This team isnt making the playoffs. Right now, it is an AWFUL TRADE.

But, If this trade gets Garrett fired then I am super happy.

The silver lining is that my BP just went up so that heart attack I am going to have is going to take me out of this world so I won't have to put up with Jerry anymore.

Also, I dont have to spend a bunch of time reading up on players for the draft and being jealous when other teams draft the players I want.

Just think of all the time we'll save next spring not having to analyze and ruminate over the first day of the draft. We can just take the day off!

Gonna be so cool watching Cooper on the sideline while Garrett punts in OT in opponent territory or runs out the clock for a long field goal to tie instead of going for the win. Claptastic.

Wasn’t a WR that kept us from winning yesterday. Was a stubborn HC that mismanaged the clock and thinks he was right about his conservative approach.

OR...and I don't believe this...but maybe Cooper is the piece the offense needs and everything starts to click. Then we get back FredBeard and we become unstoppable in the playoffs.

I will stop my dreaming now.

The Cowboys Blue & Silver Lining.

That's how they should refer to the team colors from now on.
