Mukuamu impresses me as always being right around the receiver the pass the play right there. As Dallas was giving tryouts to out of work Colts and Vikings to try and fill the loss of Brown & Lewis # 24 was right inside the Star waiting to go.

I think Dallas always saw him as Hookers replacement at safety at some point but it would make it simple to start Mukuamu on the outside opposite Diggs with Bland your slot DB. If both Brown and Lewis can come back fine , Dallas has depth . This is year 3 , time for # 24 to be a starting NFL DB.

Pick #26 in this draft is your starter opposite Diggs.

They love taking corners high even though the rules restrict most of their game.

If Brown and Lewis arent coming back we REALLY need a solid corner

I want Brown back, yeah he'll get burnt 1 time per game but he keeps it early in the game and the rest of the time hes as solid as you'd want from a #2

Always liked Brown . Mukuamu more upside respective points in each of there careers. And in the safety position the Cowboys need to look at a new free safety.

I think Bland will be in the running for the starting spot, but if we don't bring back Brown or we decide to cut Lewis, I could see us going with Mukuamu in the slot like we did in the playoffs. I think much like Wright, Mukuamu's big frame would get exposed on the outside trying to keep up with the cuts by receivers in space. I think his length and relatively strength to control the receiver is effective in the slot because there is directional control involved. (In other words, if there's a linebacker sitting in zone in the middle, then he's just got to maintain control of the receiver to the outside long enough for pressure to get to the QB. The outside leaves corners with much more open space to defend.)

If a good corner is there round 1 I take him. Also look at free agency. I would look to see what they can get for Diggs in a trade. Again very good player but I just don’t think he is worth what he is going to ask. I would rather they spend that kind of money on a game changing defensive lineman.

I think that’s highly likely depending on the other 25 picks. There are some good CB prospects in this draft. Unless a really talented WR fell and their CB board gets picked over, I think 26 will be a CB

I think it's Bland who gives us flexibility.
Bland as our #2, especially coming into his second season, would not be a bad thing at all. On the other hand, if a good outside CB falls to us in the draft, moving Bland to the slot would be ideal, and would allow us to cut Lewis and save 5 mil on the cap.

Could be yeah.

The mocks I’ve briefly looked at had a ton of corners in that late first range.

They aren’t hesitant at all to invest heavily at CB, it’s part of that proven winning formula.

I rather we look in free agency in round 1 i honestly want the best DT prospect Its high time we take that serious...

and for free agency corners let Jerry do it, not stephen....I dont need someone thats been cut by several teams shoved out there day 1 and getting burnt

Starter will be bland, and Lewis will be the slot in 2023. Muku imo will most likely take Wilson's spot.

I know many will disagree with me but There is no way on Gods green earth that Diggs should be paid 22 million+/y by a sensible team that wants to build an elite defense

This is the off season to trade him for a 1 because once he is paid he will be untradeable

Take CB with that pick
Sign mid level vet starter in FA
Take another CB in rds 4-6 in this deep
CB draft

Take those 22 million and sign Payne/Hargrave
Hankins
LVE

You know, build a real defense that is focused, disciplined, aggressive and knows how to tackle

I would move Bland out there.

Hear me out here. Let Diggs play out his rookie contract since we don’t have a good backup plan for him this off-season, draft his replacement in 2024 or 2025, and then let him go be somebody else’s albatross in 2025. I seriously doubt we would get a first in a trade.

We will get a 1 if we trade him now because he has a year left
Next year he will walk as a FA and we will get a rd 3 comp pick in 2025 draft
This draft is deep at CB
There is no way Jerry won’t pay him this year

I’d like to keep bland in the slot, let Lewis go, and draft browns replacement.

Mukuamu will be battling for a starting spot come Camp with Bland the better suited for the slot assignment . Brown & Lewis provide nice veteran depth at this point giving way to 2 younger DB picks I see really sold play from in 2023 .

Mukuamu is an interesting situation. Will Dono be re-signed? If so, do they cut Hooker or Kearse to free up cap? I think Mukuamu is a starter next season, where (?) I have no clue.

Mukuamu can literally play any position in the secondary. Imho DQ should move Issy all over the field: CB, Slot, SS n FS depending on who they're playing against. I'm not comparing, but play Mukuamu like the Packers used Charles Woodson.

Haven't looked at Ss in the draft, but I'm pet catting Sydney Brown. He's like Hafunga with more speed...this is another guy who could line up anywhere.

Idk, I'm just not concerned about the CB position.
