Eli started games in 2005, totaling about 50 games from 2005 to end of 2007 season, when Eli stepped up. Romo as you all know started midseason in 2006.

If you remember in 2007 season we beat the giants twice that year. So, what was the difference, in the playoff game in texas stadium. Eli grew up at about the 50th game. Remember now, we had intercepted and sacked eli pretty good till that big playoff game.

Romo has had counting games today about 41 starts.

So, last time i went to school, subtracting 50 starts away from 41 starts you get 9 game starts where romo is less experienced in reading secondaries, growing up as a QB, etc.

So, maybe Romo will finally click, alight will go on in his head, and he will say. Ok, I know what the coaches want me to do, sometimes be aggressive. But I have to play smart, recognize defenses, where safeties are and play smart football. Not giving it over, spread the ball around like Drew Brees does. Brees passes the ball around, and never the same wr or back over twice in a row.

Hopefully just maybe Romo will get it, and become the true leader at QB that he is paid to do.

I hope. I highly doubt yet I hope.

I think it will happen. He has shown too much talent for it NOT to happen in my opinion.

And hell, if Eli was able to do it, anyway should be able to do it.

Romo had a bad game plain and simple just like he had a great game the week before. I know one thing he will do a better job of shaking this off and moving forward than some of the faithless faithful.

Wrong.

To begin with, Eli came from much better QB stock than Romo.

His Dad was an NFL QB, so he grew up around NFL football, .. going to practice, watching games, talking football at every turn growing up.

His older brother is considered one of the games best NFL QB's.

He grew up watching him play HS, College, & NFL for a long time before he ever stepped foot on an NFL field.

He went to a bigger school and played on a bigger stage in college.

He has had better coaching in the NFL than Romo.

I would say EM is way ahead of Romo as far as NFL experience.

I still think Romo will continue to improve as time goes on, .. but to say he will eventually succeed because "if Eli can, anybody can" , I think is stretching it.

The thing that has been consistant, IMO, since the end of last year is Romo's accuracy. Romo has not been accurate, especially early in games. Many attributed this to injury last year but I wonder if he has something going on with his mechanices? As I watch him on the field, I can see that he is seeing what's going on but he just can't seem to get an accurate ball out to his intended target. I don't know what's up but I don't necessarily think this is about Romo not getting it, if you will. The deep INT to the safety who fair caught Romo's pass was obviously a mistake on Romo but, most of what I see is not recongnition necessarily. Much of it is accuracy IMO.

It doesn't work like that.

Different for everybody.

i realize that, but may be a slight ray of hope for us, that sometime this year, the light may go on for romo;

I think he is a very accurate passer. On the ball that Crayton dropped, it hit him dead in the hands. That was a slant out and the ball was thrown over one defender and in front of the safety. They had him bracketed as well as anyone could play it in a zone and he hit the receiver dead in the hands. That throw was major big league and not only do few QBs have the talent to throw it but even less the balls to do it.

I agree he had a bad game for him esp the INTs. One throw was a pass like I think you're talking about. The ball came out of his hand wrong. The INT to Witten was an errant pass. Way behind the TE. And the last throw was one of those "off the reservation" passes that is just dumb, dumb, dumb.

And that's the trouble with Romo. He tends to bunch his INTs. But he still is a very, very accurate passer overall.

It's nuts to think he doesn't have the physical tools to be not only a very good QB but a great QB. Name one QB with his instincts to make plays. Only one comes to mind and that's Favre. Tony needs to learn when he can be the creative genius Tony Romo and not be the self destructive but brilliant Favre. It's that simple.

And don't think one doesn't go with the other. It just takes mental discipline, more experience, and more mental discipline. Tony needs to know when to fold his hand. Throw the ball away Tony. Know when to be able to throw into coverage and keep in mind the state of the game and the flow of the game. If they can't stop the run then throw high percentage safe passes to keep them honest and out of the box.

There is no team in football able to stop this offense with a healthy OL and Romo playing smart football. And Red called a superb game BTW.

As I recall it took Peyton even longer than that before he started winning big games. I'm not trying to say that Romo has Peyton's ability, as very few ever have, but the point is that even some of the greatest QBs of all time took a long while to get their stuff going properly and winning the big games. People are just too quick to want to go out and make a change after every loss.
