Should be a solid TE here. With the way this offense uses the TE position it shouldn't be super hard to find a decent player to be productive. He fits the mold.

Look for some awesome tight end blocking from Jake Ferguson from Wisconsin, whose players usually are better in the pros. Jake is an A+ blocker, 4 year starter. He will be the best blocking TE on the Boys ever, not named Billy Joe Dupree and Jason Witten.

He will make an immensely big improvement in the running game. He is a ready to play, all purpose TE, a better blocker than the other TE's in the draft. He needs no learning curve. He will make a big impact from the outset. His slower 4.81 speed kept him from being a 2nd round pick. But he does not have to run longer routes. In addition, although not fast, Jake catches everything, knows how to get open, and is a super smart player on the field. I want him in on all short yardage plays and at goal line snaps.

I think he will. I see us getting a deal done with him soon. We have a great TE room actually if ya look at the guys we have. Sprinkle is just a pass catcher, but McKean is a guy that started to come on last year. We may have 3 really decent tightends. This may get very interesting man. Im excited. I think odd man out will be Sprinkle.

There are no 275 pound TE's, not that are worth a crapp. That is a normal height/weight ratio for a TE. Gesicki, Henry, and Ertz have the exact same height/weight. Several weigh less at that height.

There are a lot of scouting reports that indicate he is average as a blocker, and some even say below average, so I'm going to say it's way premature to suggest he will be one of the best blocking TE's the Cowboys have ever had.

But I do like him as a compliment to Schultz. Seems like a very solid pick.

Ferguson is a TE who can do a lot of things well but is not an overwhelming athlete or blocker. He is a solid route-runner w/good body control & hands to adjust for throws away from his body or through contact.

As a blocker, Ferguson wins w/good technique & adequate play strength & does enough to project to be able to stay in line at the next level. But he can struggle to sustain against longer & stronger defenders. FAR from being "A Steal"!

Kiper has a job based on name recognition. Hire him as a GM and he would fail faster than Mike Mayock. It’s amazing that these media guys and some fans think they are more knowledgeable than teams that have a team of scouts watching film, interviewing the players, and working out the players. The most laughable thing is when I hear a fan say that a player was over drafted or they didn’t have the player as high on THEIR board.

Seems we go back to the Wisconsin well a lot. Must be the new Boise State. Meanwhile, the rest of our division is loading up on players from Bama, UGA, and OSU...... thank god they have bad QBs.
