Baldinger on NFL Network said something interesting a couple of weeks ago about John Kitna. When he backpedals on his dropbacks, he will throw to his left almost every time. When he drops back normally, he throws to the middle or to his right almost every time.

After seeing Baldinger say this, I watched the next Lions game and it was true.

Write Mickey. No joke. He's dropped hints like this to the coaches before.

Am I the only one who thinks that Baldinger looks like hes suffering from a permanent allergic reaction?

Sounds interesting. Definately is worth mentioning if anyone shoots him an email.

Very interesting observation. This is better than stealing the signs and it's legal! :D

After you watch us let us know the statistics. I'm curious about this.

They said the same thing about Troy Aikman and the Cowboys during the SB years and more times than not it was true. There were exceptions of course, but a large majority of the time it seemed to hold that a back pedal drop led to a pass to the left and a standard drop back led to a pass to the right. Mike Martz, Norv Turner and Ernie Zampese all run offenses that branch off from the same tree.

Now that I think about it, Dan Fouts used to do it as well.

Another thingl on Kitna. He does not step up in the pocket at all, at least he did not in the GB-Det game over Thanksgiving.

Ware should have a field day!

I think Ellis is the one that can have the better day. The right tackles for the Lions this year have not been good. Ellis has to take advantage of it. And you are right, Kitna has horrible pocket presence.

I think I remember that as well, but I was still fairly young while he was playing. Air Coryell sprung off Martz, Turner and Zampese. I truly remember Madden bringing it up about Aikman a few times especially during the 1994 season.

its more fun since baldinger cant explain why philly is the greatest team ever!!!

I do like baldinger though, he never seems to have an agenda and is pretty listenable.
