A terrific Tony Romo gives me hope from this ballgame.

A huge loss. No question.

Blame to be spread alot of places. Most notably- Barber, Folk, Scandrick, Sensabaugh and ST's really let us down in a huge way in this ballgame.

BTW, I think Barber needs to come off the bench going forward. He's just not shifty enough anymore to get positive yardage carry to carry for defenses to start respecting the run game a bit more.

We might need a new kicker, and he may be on the roster as it stands anyway.

I hated the playcalling early in this ballgame and in the third quarter. You could see Romo's frustration with it too.

But Tony was terrific. Two bad plays: the missed Roy wide open TD... that was adrenaline. And I think he has to make sure Barber has the depth for the 1st down conversion on the 4th down play.

Other than that, he was flawless. Every throw was on-target, and with fantastic touch in relatively difficult weather conditions- this is a great sign. He was in total command of the offense and did not rattle with heavy pressure in his face. Look for more offense from this team going forward.

The problems on this team are similar to what we have seen in the past. Just a lack of anger/emotion and pride when it's needed. This ballclub does not CONSISTENTLY respond well to adversity- especially on defense.

I thought we had made a stride forward on this point but apparently today we took a step backwards. Big plays ruined the D's confidence from time to time today at crucial moments.

I think we will be bounce back, but this is going to be a dogfight to get to the postseason going forward.

It's an all-out war from here out, and the Cowboys need to start playing like they are in one.

I guess that's something you can take away from this game.

Bad news..Football is a team game and it's almost always one phase of the game that doesn't show up for us.

Good post. I agree completely, especially with Barber. I've been a huge Barber fan for a while, but I'm pretty down on him now.

If you're so sure of that, care to make a wager?

He made some clutch, phenomenal throws.

I haven't been this impressed with Tony in a while.

His best game in a long long time.

The same way the Yankees are ruining Joba(his fast decreased after a year of starting (from 96-98 to 92-94) the Cowboys are ruining Barber. AND it is OBVIOUS that his role is the one he had previously.

BUT because Jerry paid him all that money he is starting. Unbelievable.

He can't run the pattern for him. Barber stopped and turned a yard shy of the sticks, that inexcusable.

Its not like Romo has the time there to assess where he is in respect to the first down marker, he has to assume that Barber did his job and got there.

And yet some nimrods on this forum will continue to attribute this loss to him by saying he can't win in Dec. :bang2:

That was a very good performance from Romo. Don't forget, we gashed them for 251 rushing in the first meeting. They refused to get beat by the running game. If we get that kind of play from the QB position, we win 8 out of 10. Now, about that defence and those STs.......

I kind of agree with you- but again: I think Tony himself has to be ASSURED of the first down by any means necessary. You do however make another point in the direction that Barber has to be on the outside looking in more often than he is on the field.

Ugh, GO AWAY. I'm so sick of this knee-jerk response. Was this a huge loss for our morale? Yes. Will we bounce back? Maybe...my guess is probably. They will learn from it. The defense has to get better and get their head in the game. If the defense is solid, we win this game. But there is NO reason to believe we will lose the rest of the games this season. If you look at the games we lost this year, we have bounced back and won the following week. Grow up, or go jump on the Saints bandwagon. Either way, I don't care....just stop spewing the negativity. No one ever expected us to go 16-0 this year. There were bound to be some losses. This is one of them. Yes, we have a tough December schedule, but I do believe we will bounce back and make the most of the rest of this month. Just my opinion.

I agree, but Choice should be starting, and for the same reason you stated, Jerry would insist that Felix start, because he is the first round pick.

What else is Romo supposed to do? If he's checked down to Barber it means everyone else is covered.

Its is 100% Barber's responsibility to be beyond those sticks. And if he's not, he absolutely needs to beat the first defender to get there.
