Was Romo perfect no but all this BS about distraction is ridicules only people making an issue of it are those that play no part in the game i.e. fans and media. Romo knows his job but can't do it alone others in that game failed to come up with the plays and TO not being up to full speed clearly made the Giants job a bit easier
YoMick;1989288 said:I agree about the part where the fans and media make it more of a concern than it should be... but Romo should have tunnel vision when it comes to football.... peripheral distraction can have an affect on your game.
Things got to him down the stretch. He was telling the media its my business and what I do in my personal blah blah blah.
To say that these things did not affect his game in some way, shape or form is irresponsible.
Doomsday101;1989306 said:To say you know that he was not focused on his job is pure speculation. Again I think many put their own feeling behind these stories that does not have anything to do with the individual person. Romo was back at the Ranch when they still had a day off watching film according to members of the team what he did for 2 days is really no ones business be it staying at home or not.
In the end Romo was not the cause of our loss, hell if Fasano and Crayton hold on to the damn ball that game may have been very different. Had the team not taking 12 penalties in that game it may have been very different. Maybe some of these guys needed to go to Mexico because they did not step up for what ever reason.
I think it very small of people to use Romo as the excuse for the teams loss or somehow he was not ready he is the QB but he can only do so much, he can't get players around him not to committ penalties and he can't catch the ball for other players
YoMick;1989416 said:Romo IMO is at a crossroads as far as where he is going to take this team.
It is quite obvious that he loves the extra attention.
He needs a touch more Aikman in him that he does Namath. (you are smart I know you will get this)
Doomsday101;1989431 said:Romo is just living his life, because he is dating Jessica Simpson? Hell Bradshaw dated and Married Jo Jo Starbuck who was a well known person in the 70's then went through a divorce and it had no bearing on anything. Romo in my view did not do anything to be sorry for, even his own Teammate TO stood up on that. People are putting their own perspective on this but they do not walk in Romo shoes.
Doomsday101;1989431 said:As for a cross road? How many years did Peyton Manning endure the label of a guy who could not win the big one be it in college or the pros that is the BS that others put on players but have nothing at all to do with the game or reality it is just outside BS spoken by people sitting at a desk. In the end it all comes down to winning, you win and people are forced to shut up if not they come up with their own conclusion as to why
YoMick;1989489 said:Without question the media was MUCH different then... but you know that.... bad example on your part.
Again different deal. Peyton was expected to win it at some point. I dont have to tell you Romo's tale. He has to do more than the others.
It is very possible that we remain "good" for several years... but not "good enough"
What did Bill tell him.... "never let good enough be good enough"
Doomsday101;1989522 said:Let me just say Romo during the season bye week went to Los Angeles along with TO to a party if you recall reports of Tony and Brittney s Spears came out, after the bye week we trounced Philly no one said a thing. You win no one say anything but you lose and everyone has their reasons for the loss regardless if it has any truth to it or not. I think Romo understands his job and what he needs to do to get himself ready and according to those who are there that has not been an issue.
danny0812;1988656 said:Maybe if i saw him on the field as much as i do in commercials id feel better. he is on tv way too much IMO. Look at the season Brady had without doing all the commercials. Amazing the commercials ****** (manning/romo) are also 2 of my favs but wnet 1 and done. Lets concentrate on football this year. And you can blame alot of things on him in the giants debacle. Yes crayton couldve made a couple of big plays there but Tony looked overmatched. He looked defeated the whole second half. I personally think the red carpet has unraveled a lil too quickly for Tony. Hoping this is the year he breaks out of it or we will have to call him Danny White.
