So my mom is throwing my father a surprise Birthday Party and she asked me to do a short little toast... I have never done a toast so lemme know what you think of this little something I came up with. Thanks in advance for your comments.

They say if you look at a daughter's mother or a son's father you can see their future self. If you take a look at my dad I guess there is really only one thing I have to look froward to... he hasn't lost all his hair yet.

(hopefully some laughter)

I'm just kidding though... if I turn out like my dad I couldn't be any happier.

(awwwwww)

Happy 60th, I love you dad.

Be gentle people ;)

That sounds good to me. Good light humor that would not make people uncomfortable. That is the part I would screw up by saying "I wish I were adopted" or something that would make people cringe. I hope it works well for you. Good luck.

If you just get up and say - "Happy 60th Dad - **** you!" and make sure to say the last part really loud, it will be hilarious.

But you've got to really sell the "**** you!"

Or Mom asked me to say something nice about my father but I don't see the mailman in the room. :D

Good toast. Short, sweet, a touch of humor and in good taste.

LOL - We are having an open bar so if I have to do it later in the night I might take your material ;)

Thinking about it I might use that at the beginning...

I am suppose to give a toast to my father but I don't think the mailman was invited...

I like it.

I wouldn't, stick with your original script...there are times to poke that kind of fun, IMO while giving a birthday toast is not one of them...

This is not a Friar's Club roast we're talkin' about here... besides, you never know but what you might not have accidentally stumbled on a family secret... :D

lol roasting is fun :p:

I'll flip a coin and let you know how it turns out either way.

The family actually has a great sense of humor and are usually poking fun at 1 another so I think it would be a big hit... unless it really is a family secret :bang2:
