I didn't intend to do this until we had football again, but a post I just read changed my mind. Like the poster I linked above I have had a wonderful time getting educated about a lot of this stuff. And I truly mean that. I've explored laws and discussions I never would have otherwise done.

I hope that I will not forget any of our lawyers or posters who have offered their expertise and legal training to help in this education. If I do, please send me an angry PM and I will edit this post. I do not want any of them left out.

To peplaw06, Angus, CooterBrown, theogt, Dough Boy, Cobra, DCDave, SkinsFan28, Verdict, AdamJT13, and Outlaw Heroes, I thank you all for the information I have learned during these debates. Even when you disagree with me if you make me think about things in a different way than I normally would (and all of you have done that) I feel it is to my advantage.

Often in debates such as these all we ever get is Deja Moo. That's the same old bull. Not in this case at all if anyone has been paying attention. These guys have cited case law, judgments, interpretations, created examples, and generally have just laid out the best possible information for this site's membership that could ever be acquired.

From me, whether anyone else wants to join in or not, thank you. In my mind you have all Cowboyed up.

I'll second that. I haven't expressed any strong views either way thus far, but I have benefitted from reading others views.

I'll third that motion. I don't know much about labor disputes or legal wranglings so it has been very helpful to have folks here at least have some experience with these matters, or in some cases, in depth knowledge of them.

Thank you. :starspin

Posted this in another thread, but seems like it fits here too...

If anything, these debates and the disagreements we've had have made me want to be on this site more, and I didn't think that was possible. I have always come here for the tons of information this site provides in one place. The labor negotation news is a different animal altogether than the typical football news, but the site doesn't miss a beat. Still have all the best information here IMO. That's due directly to the staff and members here... as biased as we all may be.

So I'd like to thank the staff here for running one of the best sites around.

I won't speak for the others, but for my part I have to say: while the lawyers may offer a useful perspective on all of this, I don't think it deserves to be singled out. There are many people offering different, but just as useful, perspectives, including the business perspective that people like you and others bring, the thoughtful, intelligent layman's perspective that many of our posters bring (way too many of them to list) and even the angry perspective that we see from some (it needs to be heard).

So while I personally appreciate the sentiment, thanks is entirely unnecessary in my view. Unless we're all going to be thanking each other on a regular basis for what each of us brings to these forums. Then again, maybe we should. I can't imagine there's a better football-related forum anywhere on the web. Maybe we should be congratulating each other on that more often.

Yeah, the opinions of our resident lawyers are much appreciated. I have learned a lot by simply reading their legal input, and while we do get plenty of opinions from other people on here - and some of those opinions are good ones - having a legal perspective is invaluable.

So I too, thank you for your thoughts.

I add my thanks to that of Hos's. Sometimes a sense of humbleness is healthy in elements of a group as well. We all thirst for knowledge of truth. And as in life, there are roles by players in a team. It is good when leadership elements assume that role strongly. Don't deflect the need to show the sincerity involved with being lead in discussion by those trained to do just that...lead.

I again add my thanks, as knowledge is truely an invaluable asset. Many fight and die just for that opportunity.

Reality, and his staff, have forged a direction in dignity on the internet. And yes, we all richly have benefited.:starspin

I am just kind of amazed by how passion for for football and the Cowboys causes people from all walks of life to cross paths here. I've always thought the internet was one of the greatest inventions of our lifetime. It gives us all the ability to discuss, argue, inform and vent in one convenient place. Also thanks to the attorneys who come here and try and educate the rest of us, your expertise and opinions have been helpful and eye opening particularly at this point in time.

...about the wonderful convergence of knowledge this forum has been for all things informative about the recent labour conflict.

What it has done for me is to truly remind me how important the game is in and of itself and how we all need football to resume.

Despite the collection of learnedness in this site we can't for get what we have in common. We are Dallas Cowboys fans. Football fans.

This recent period of no football is of no benefit to anyone with the exception of the people who are garnering legal revenues from the wrangling.

I added my thanks above but just so you lawyers don't let your head get too big, I still agree with Shakespear.:D J/K

As a legal junkie, this has been a fun discussion for sure, but I'm certainly ready to get back to the business of football.

Thanks for the omission, bud!

Did you comment on this mess? If so, I never read any of it and was wondering how come you were the lawyer who did not comment.

I too offer my sincere thanks I have said it before but here perhaps it will catch the eye better.

I realize I am the lone wolf in wanting a total free market NFL and I tried to argue my case as intelligently as possible...but I realize that most of the time my intended meaning comes out as clear as mud. So I really appreciate you guys and gals who were able to take a difficult subject and break it down far enough for knuckleheads like me to understand it. :)

I'm very thankful for the quality, useful, and helpful information we've all gotten from these topics and the loads and loads of discussion that has come from it. Thats the part that has been worthwhile during this crappy situation of a lock out.

Until the legal types here get together and solve this mess, I'm not thanking anybody!

Now, get on it.

Well I don't have a law degree but I've been around lawyers in both good and bad capacities for half my life. I've seen more then any young man should in his lifetime, but I can tell which way is up and which way is down over most legal issues, and then I can tell about when it doesn't matter...

Stay Classy Hos...

Not sure what I said that was classless.
