It took us 13 years to win a playoff game.

That means we're on pace to win a Superbowl in 2049.

The good news is 2 generations of Jones' could be dead by then

Its our only chance

Is it wrong that this made me :laugh2: ?

Point blank, the O-Line was awful.

In the end of the season, OL injuries and/or play have been our undoing for at least 5 years now.

Q1. How much more O-line depth do we need?

Q2. Do we really need the big bodied back for games like these? Someone who can run over people and prevent a pass-rush-only approach?

I think given the fact 3 of our backup O-linemen are Free Agents and one other one isn't very good that we will need to shore up the OL. Besides our starters are getting up there in years.

This is funny, but you know it has to be heavy on Jerry's mind as well. I've sensed a bit of desperation in his decision making over the past few years, and it could very well be that he is afraid he won't live to see the fruits of his labor. He's not a spring chick, and it has to be a little nerve-racking for him. :(

I agreed up until you discussed the Romo to Williams connection.

It's never going to happen. Jerry needs to be a man, swallow his pride and cut the dead weight. It was a bad trade then and will continue to go down as one of the worst trades that Jerry has made.

I didn't get to upset this season the team exceeded my expectation going in to the season and while the pitiful way they preformed on sunday was very disappointing they did at least accomplish something this season.

Hopefully O line will be a major theme on draft day as we need to do something about that line fast or all the talent in the world at other positions won't matter

BTW great op and great thread. Exactly my sentiments, Hostile. Very cathartic to know that not everyone is buying into the idea that this team is flawed beyond repair.

I do not feel at all the way I did at the end of last season. That was a rough season to endure. This one was fun, exciting, thrilling at times and left me disappointed but *very* hopeful. Any coach that can lead a team to two division championships and a playoff win in three years is a coach worth giving another chance. I am hopeful that the source is reliable and that we will be keeping WP and I hope we keep JG, too. No need to jump off the bridge just yet. This team has loads of potential and are obviously responding to the coaching style of "Coach Cupcake". ;)

They definitely need some tweaking, but no major changes need be made.

I can't wait for next season.

Very Good Post, I hope we can draft someone to at least come in and compete for the LT spot. I feel that Doug Free is best suited for RT. I'm also looking foward to some of the young players who was placed on IR this year. I'm looking foward to the off-season.

I think you can learn more from a loss sometimes than a win. While the talent level between Minn and Dallas is about even (in spite of the score) the one HUGE advantage the Vikings had on us was on the lines. The Vikings got great pressure on us with their front four and killed every slow developing running play.

I have been saying this for some time, but I really think for this defense to reach its potential that at some point, we need to get a mammoth NT to collapse the pocket. Ratliff is great at rushing the passer and shooting the gap, but he's not going to collapse the pocket like a huge NT would. We are already moving Ratliff around, so I don't see it as a negative moving him over to DE.

If you add that element to our defense, then we become as dominant on the defensive line as the Vikings were ....... that doesn't mean we can't win a Super Bowl without one, but I really think it improves our chances.
