I have the Onkyo SR607 w/ Kilpsch RF-83 home theater speakers.

AMAZING!!!

I wanted a Pioneer Elite series reciever but the price was just rediculous. I didn't want to spend 1500$ on the one I wanted.

I put a lot more into my speakers than I did the receiver. Im glad I did. The Onkyo is a kick-butt receiver and the speakers are just WOW.

Excerrent. What about the operating temp? Does it run noticeably hot? Newegg has it right now for 494.00+ free shipping and I have a 10% discount code w em...further, if the usual trend follows, it will be down to ~450.00 by summer. Tempting.

It does run warm, like any receiver. I have an open air component rack it sits in w/ nothing on top of it. I have zero problems w/ heat on it.

I purchased mine in November and have not had a single problem with it. It is one of the best receivers I have owned and the sound is fantastic.

One of the main reasons I picked up this receiver was the HDMI switching it has.

Audio and 1080p Video Processing via HDMI 1 Front/5 Rear Inputs and 1 Output

Funny you should say that. I was thinking recently , whatever happened to them?....yrs ago JVC used to have a decent share of this action. You just don't hear about their products one way or another. theebs did suggest that these units in this range were about same quality-wise, and he's likely right fr what I have determined so far. At this point it's about features.
