I wrote this in my drinking days back in college eons ago. Thought I would share with the rest of you.
T’was the weekend before summer
And all through the house
The whole darn crew
Was drunk as a louse
The Budweiser was stacked
In the refrigerator with care
In hopes that St. Everclear
Soon would be there
The lightweights were in back
Passed out in their beds
While visions of drinking
Danced in their heads
So me with my P.J.
And David my cuz
Had just settled down
For a nice game of Buzz (Drinking game) FYI
When all of a sudden
There arose such a clatter
I got up from the game
To see what was the matter
As I walked to the window
My drink fell on the floor
So I hollered to David
“Please poor me some more”
From the sounds they were making
I new the others were tight
Still my eyes remained focused
Out into the night
When all of a sudden
What should appear
But a six-pack of Sprite
And a liter of Everclear
As it fell to the ground
With a dull hard thunk
I knew in an instant
I soon would be drunk
I danced and I giggled
I shimmied and shaked
As I started to realize
All the drinks I could make
A River Snake, a Honey Bunch
A Cherry Bomb and Mud Ball
A Sunrise, a Goldfish
There were hundreds in all
I said to myself
As I was mixing a drink
“I’ll keep on drinking
till I can’t even think”
So, down the hatch
My first drink soon went
It wasn’t too long
Before my liquor was spent
Then in my stupor
I thought I could hear
Someone behind me
Pouring some more Clear
As I drew my head
And was turning to see
It was Devon with a drink
And he gave it to me
It was a tall cool glass
With a few chunks of ice
So I looked at Devon
And said “Gee that was nice”
As I finished my drink
I got up and waddled
All through the house
In search of a bottle
As I stumbled over friends
Passed out on the floor
I finally found a bottle
Lying by the front door
My legs how the wobbled
My eyes red as cherries
When asked if I was drunk
I could only say “very”
I drank so much Clear
That my throat had turned soar
But I could not resist
The urge to drink more
The neck of the bottle
I held in my grip
Gingerly I raised it
Up to my lips
As it went down my throat
And into my belly
The legs on which I stood
Began feeling like jelly
I was drunker the snot
But still I was up
So with my last bit of strength
I filled up my cup
As I finished my last drink
I was beginning to see
The evening would soon
Be ending for me
I spoke not a word
I just fell to the floor
For the first time in my life
I wanted no more
As I crawled on my knees
In search of a bed
It felt like a hammer
Was pounding my head
As I fell into bed
And stared at the wall
Somewhere in the house
I could hear someone call
“We’ll drink more tomorrow
to this there’s no doubt”
with that in my mind
I finally passed out
