Agreed it needs to be shored up but off 3 days rest and a division win I’m pretty happy overall

That’s not exactly true, because this team needs to learn from their mistakes, we said the same thing last year, as they won the division, we said winning is all that matters, and yet we saw the lack of discipline all year and then it’s the main reason why they were eliminated last year, so winning is nice but I still don’t see them fixing the same things that cost them last season

Absolutely on point. You need a zillion likes for this post.

It's the NFL and a division game. All that matters is winning.
Style point wins in the NFL- like the one we had last week against the Vikings are very rare. If you watch our Game Day thread, some of our fans think we’re terrible if we have one 3 and out. If the defense gives up a big play, “We suck”. If it wasn’t so humorous it will be annoying.

Some fans demand a 17-0 season, score on every possession, the defense shuts out every opponent, or something is “wrong” with this team and all of its players.

The truth is, the NFL is an incredibly competitive league with very little separation between any team. Every single game we play we are capable of winning of losing. And sometimes it may not be because the OC or quarterback suck- it may be those other guys are sometimes good too. Their coaches and players get paid too.

You are so right. I don't mean to be THAT guy and not appreciate the win either BUT...

13 penalties is ridiculous.

Ya'll forgetting this was a NY team that could barely field a team? It was a pretty bad showing all around.

Rough first half, but Giants are just not good enough. Against a better team, that kind of self sabotage will lose the game

Even MM and Dak in the postgame both spoke about the lack of discipline as an issue..again I’m not taking away from the win, but I’m thinking big picture in fact, if they keep winning and putting themselves in position to not only make the playoffs but actually finally win a playoff game they MUST clean up these mistakes, and why I worry is because we said the same EXACT thing last year, win is a win, and then what happened the lack of discipline they were able to overcome in the regular season they couldn’t in the playoffs and I still see those same mistakes which isn’t good at all

Once Dak stopped trying to be Peyton Manning the offense looked much more smooth.

Pretty much but it's intoxicating to blow out the Vikes and then come home to a depleted Gspots secondary. So...he fell into that trap in the first half. Settled down and played great in the second half.

The penalties and lack of discipline is still a problem. They dominated in the second half, but we said the same thing last season and it completely destroyed their playoff loss to SF, and I still don’t see it being fixed.
The penalties certainly need to be addressed but this is NOT last years team.

That is what I'm afraid of. If we were playing, say, KC today, they'd have been up by 24 at the half.

Dak was kind of blah today. He had a lot of terrible passes where the receivers had to bail him out. But yes, a win is a win.
Dak was flawless in the 2nd half when it mattered most.

but yah, I wouldn’t expect anything different from you.

They consistently show that they don't have the smarts and mental discipline to win in high-stakes playoff games against quality opponents. 10+ penalties today...it seems like they have at least 7 penalties every week. I'm not sure the last time they played a clean game

Until we see them start to clean it up and look more focused, I won't be optimistic. We've seen this before last year and they ended up being down big to the 49ers after 3 quarters while committing 14 penalties in that game.

Good team but we will see when the Playoffs come....I hate being that guy but this team sucks in the Playoffs. Maybe after 3 Decades they have figured it out

If we don't stop basing our entire O on low percentage passes for an entire half, we will suck once again in the playoffs. That has to absolutely unequivocally stop.
