A WR with the 4th pick.. Really?

I keep seeing mock drafts with the Cowboys going after Laquon Treadwell. We have Dez Bryant. Can the other WRs on this team not get open? Whats the issue with the current WR core?

I have no problem seeing him in the mix. As far as other WR's getting open, did you watch last year? Other than the last game, TWILL was completely disappointing. The offense didn't look explosive in the games that Romo did play. There are certainly more pressing needs but there may not be many better players in this draft. Not my choice, but I can certainly see why he was mocked. Offense was week spot on team and this kid would make us a better offense.

This team needs skill position players bigtime! Outside of Dez we got nada. Witt is slow and old, our RB's stink, and the rest of the WR's suck, Beas is ok, but not dynamic.

Nothing is wrong with our WR corp. You just have a bunch of people that don't follow teams very well and don't have any contacts within the organization that can make illogical picks.

The fact anyone is even contemplating the thought of taking a WR at #4 simply highlights how atrocious this offense is. You shouldn't need first round picks at every position on offense to be successful...

Treadwell is a nice player and I think he'll be a good one, I just don't trust Garret and/or Linehan to actually use both he and Dez effectively.

No, they are not able to get open without Dez on the field . That is one reason that Weedan and others looked so bad at times.

Also, TW drops too many passes and isn't worth keeping once his rookie contract is up so we need to draft our next number two who needs to be better than TW. I loved Lockett last year, as many here did, and he ended up in the PB for Seattle because our FO mistakenly didn't think
We needed to upgrade or deepen our WR corps. Street must have blackmail pics on the coaches because he is inexcusably bad and everyone but our coaches saw it last year and Even very clearly this year.

Jimmy Johnson said when he took over the Cowboys he could not believe how old and slow and slow and old, and bad, the Cowboys were. The Ticket's Norm Hitzges was talking about it this morning on his show. He said Jimmy said he had no problem taking over for Tom Landry; Landry was a great coach but he was coaching a very bad team. Oh, and they were old and slow.

There are some once great players on this team but at some point they are all going to be old and slow. An injection of young great talent at any position would be a positive.

I don't think there is anything wrong with them.

I think the big issue is not having the old running game...

not having the legit running game teams have to deal with to pull guys down into the box..

and out of the passing drops..

is a huge difference.

Guys like Street. Escobar, and Williams struggle to find the gaps in the defense.

I don't worry about Dez..he can deal with things.

I have my doubts about sinking more big bucks into WR..

Love to see a Treadwell but there are only so many balls to go around..

I wouldn't have a problem with a WR at 4 if they were a different breed of WR than we already have. We have a better version of Treadwell already in Dez. They are so identical everyone is comparing them. We don't need another Dez. We need a WR that can threaten safeties/corners deep. If a WR like Julio Jones or even Amari Cooper was in this draft I could get on board. I can't support another possession reciever who will only ensure the intermediate areas stay packed with defenders.

I would love Treadmill but I can't honestly say that we would see noticeable difference in the offense. He is worth a #4 pick just not for the Cowboys IMO.

We would see him running 10yd curls and 5yd outs

The WR core looked like a train wreck without Dez.................only two possibilities to explain this.

Either all the other WRs are scrubs and cant get open by themselves, thus requiring an immediate upgrade with Treadwell.

OR

The 3 backup QBs we used all sucked and could not get the WRs the ball accurately......ergo, we need to QB at 4

So it depends on which camp you are in as to what your preference at pick 4 is.
