Defense called for delay of game against Tampa Bay - that almost never happens.

Zeke penalized for using his helmet against a defender - that penalty is 99% of the time called against the defense, almost never against offense.

La'El Collins sacking Dak, 'nuff said.

While there are good calls and bad calls, and good non calls and bad non calls, the Cowboys always seem to get some sort of phantom call at a critical point in the game which always changes the momentum in the game monumentally.

It doesn't really seem to happen to our opponents. You would think that over time it would even out if it was just an honest mistake and completely random. But it never seems to even out.

I will let you draw your own conclusions from that.

Didn’t we get a defensive delay of game because someone on the D line moved? D line guys move all the time.

The Zeke penalty I agree with. The other 2 were screwy.

Absolutely agree. IMO the Cowboys lost due to poor officiating. I heard Kleenex is thinking of sponsoring Jerrah World. Just stop.

You are just baiting the two "No Conspiracy" clowns, aren't you?

The Delay penalty in the TB game was a make up call IMO, they should have given the Bucs a 1st down but made a very poor spot. On the next play there were two really minor moves on Dallas, one on TB and then the time ran out. They had to call something, so they made it on Dallas as a makeup call.

The spearing on Zeke was a "gotta call something" play. That should have been offsetting because both players lead with their helmets, but Zeke dished out more than he got, so they called it on him.

The Collins penalty is weird, someone should look up the exact language of "in the grasp".

This year was mostly about the league putting in a boatload of new tickytack penalties and then a bunch of officiating crews doing a very poor job of calling them.

For sure some weird ones but its not like it dictated the season
Right, I'm not saying the Cowboys season sank because of the refs, not at all. Anytime you allow 273 rushing yards, you deserve to lose. I'm just saying that there seemed to be unusually bizarre calls against Dallas this year.

Anyone who says the refs are not instructed by the league offices about calling penalties is naive. Look at the playoffs. For some reason in the playoffs, they let them play. Why is that? Because the league knows too many penalties called ruins the game. It creates the greater possibility that a game may turn on a penalty or may even decide the outcome. The league hates controversy like that so they let up on the flags. But this causes other problems, like when you see an obvious holding call on a TD run that isn't called, but then a DB swipes at a guy and hits his face mask and they call illegal use of hands. Or how do you miss a false start?

I saw the league explanation for the in the grasp call on the Dak sack. Its pure BS.

Personally, I prefer to just let them play as long as they do it consistently. If you are going to let an obvious penalty go then don't call the little stuff like that illegal use of hands on Byron Jones.

As to the question of weird calls against the Cowboys. Yes, the 12 men in the huddle a few years ago was total nonsense and they even changed the rule after that one. The illegal snap penalty this year and also the delay of game they called on Demarcus Lawrence when he shifted too quickly was total BS. For what its worth, the Cowboys are in the middle of the pack this year in penalties against them. They are near the top in the fewest penalties called against their opponents. At one point they were on top after 14 games in that category. I guess their opponents got called a lot in their last two games or some other teams had not penalties called against their opponents.
